Green Picture We have Panasonic Digital TV, Humax PVR and Daewoo VCR/DVD. The picture is OK when on TV or AV1 for PVR but wen AV2 for VCR/DVD it is Green. We have checked oll connections and imputs. It is also green when we play a DVD. The TV and PVR are both new but the VCR/DVD worked OK on our old Daewoo TV

The problem sounds like one I had. If so, the cause is as follows.

The Daewoo ouputs synchronisation information on the green channel of the RGB outputs (which are pins in the SCART socket) The Panasonic TV automatically preferentially selects the RGB input in the SCART rather than the composite video signal in the SCART. The video circuits in the Panasonic should ignore the sync on the green channel but instead interpret the sync as green signal information which means the adjustment of the green channel is upset leading to a very green picture.

Possible solutions:
1. From the TV, manually select composite video input, not RGB. This may not be possible - I think the TV automatically goes for the RGB if it is present.
2. Disconnect the wire to pin 16 in the SCART socket. This is the signal from the VCR/DVD to indicate that RGB is available. Disconnecting it means the TV defaults to the composite video. This is what I did.
3. Connect the TV to the VCR/DVD using component or S-VHS leads only.

Why does my Humax Foxsat HDR tune to stations OK sound OK but no picture just a green screen. Any suggestions?. Worked OK till about a week ago.

This is sometimes due to the PVR not communicating properly with the TV. Try turning the TV on before the Humax.

Where to put scart leads into dvd and video player and panosonic tv

Look at the rear of the TV/VCR/DVD & you will see long black sockets where the Scart cable is connected onto, these are normally indicated as AV1/2 etc. You can then take Scart from DVD to TV on AV1. Then on AV2 take the second scart from VCR to TV or you can take the second scart from the DVD to the VCR & from the VCR to AV2 on the TV.

My plasma LG TV has a black display box in the top left corner of screen. No words or text in it, just a black box covering that coirner of picture...how do I get rid of it?

There should be a button on your TV remote that will be called "Display" or "P in P".
The display button usually displays which input you have selected, such as: SAT for Satellite; AV1, AV2, AV3 or AV4 - depending on how many inputs your TV has, to plug in devices like a VCR or DVD recorder/player.
Otherwise, if you have a more sophisticated TV, it could be that you have accidentally pressed the "P in P" button, that selects the Picture in Picture mode. If you have done this, your TV will display the main picture of the input you have selected, plus another input, (such as SAT or AV1 or AV2 etc. as I've mentioned above). If the AV1 or AV2, etc. input is not active (not switched on) then that input will only display a blank (black) picture in the top left corner of the screen.
Hope this helps...

I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-ES30VEB could you please tell me if this will still be able to record if I buy a new Panasonic digital TV??

Yes, connect to AV2 and you can select the output for AV2 from the menu.
Most tv's send a selectable signal out through av2 but if you match to your Panasonic, you may find it will automatically set up with the dvd recorder(like Sony Smartlink)
You simply go into the menu, select the av2 output set up and pick what you want to record. I.E. dvt, av1 etc.

Connecting a DVD/VCR combo to LCD TV

The best suggestion I would advise is to buy a shielded scart connector & connect that from your DVD combi to either AV1 OR AV2. It sounds as if you are picking up RF interference from your current connections, this can sometimes happen if the cables do not have adequate shielding.

g

OK,you need 3 leads,(A/V leads),normally red white and yellow.

So yellow is for Picture (video).go from video OUT (combo) to TV video IN.

Then red and white .... Audio OUT of combo into Audio IN on TV

TV must then be set to AV1 or AV2 depending on which AV inputs you used..
