Cracked screen My daughter cracked the screen on my samsung HL-S6187W with a coffee cup.  In th manual there are two parts and I don't know which is the outside screen.  Do I need to order the "fresnel screen" or the "lenticular screen"?

Sounds like fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

There's a bloated capacitor on the circuit board. That one needs to be replaced.

replace the lamp

Your light engine is going. This is a 400 dollar part, unfortunately.

You need to replace the light tunnel.you will need to remove the lamp and color wheel along with the lamp housing and fan housing to replace it .If you are not comfortable taking things apart you might want a tech.

If you found a bloated capacitor on the circuit board, that one needs to be replaced not the board. You can see the part number on the capacitor itself. Also please look for any burned IC and neighboring components. If you found additional burned components, it also need to be replace. Contact a pro tv technician to replace it.

Well normaly there are two the one in front is the linticular # BP67-00164A the next screen in is the fresnel # BP67-00165A and in some cases there is a protective screen which is simply a piece of plexiglass, but since these screen srun about $275.00 Each I hope that both were not damaged, Prices and screens at www.vancebaldwin.com

These are simple with the Samsungs they have little sticker with part numbers on them they always face out fro each other, so inside screen the sticker faces in , outside screen the linticular the sticker faces out
