replace the lamp

I doubt it's the color wheel. When our wheel went bad the TV didn't come on at all. It could be the lamp. Try reseating it first. That fixed a problem the first time for us. Later we had to replace the lamp because the TV was getting dark. It could also be your ballast, but we've never had to change that. I'd start with the lamp.

Sounds like fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. There is a thing called a capacitor in the power supply area. U're having problems with that.. take it to a techie......

I have had issues where the digital board and also the analog board have been known to cause weird symptoms like that. Did the picture ever freeze any time before this isuue appear?

Use rubbing alcohol to loosen the superglue and gently pry the pieces apart and re-glue the piece on correctly.

Couple things. If the color is going out, you probably need new bulbs. Easy to change, get em on Ebay for pretty cheap. I had an LG DLP and the pic would go out with big changes in the barometric pressure, and also from over heating. Call manufacturing and let them know you're not happy. They extended my warranty for me.

My initial concern would be the unit getting adequate air flow to prevent over heating. If the set is in an enclosure or even pushed against a wall this could be an issue. Also be sure the air intake for the fan is not blocked with dust which can build up over time. If the unit is turning off after running for a time I would look into this. Also the set likely has a temp indicator which would come on if the operating temperature is getting too high.
