Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On a MOSFET version of a Galaxy DX2517 and assuming stock mic, heat related issues of missing modulation would require initial checks of:

  • echo circuit - board EB-2000 EPT0SSB51J;
  • mic amp - IC7 NJM4558D;
  • AF power amp - Q53 to Q55.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Intermittent cooling issues

Sounds like you may have a relay problem, they will cut the compressor off and on until they just go bad all together. Do you here a clicking sound down by the compressor in the back every once in awhile?

Have extra older Frig in th garage Mod 596.72232200

Sounds like a intermittent problem with the defrost timer. Sometimes they get stuck. Check continuity of the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. If both are good then replace the defrost timer, that should solve the problem.

While watching satellite tv, receiver will work fine for a good while (an hour or more), then you begin hearing what sounds like static in the right front channel, followed shortly after by the receiver...

Sometimes equipment gets too hot and starts glitching. Try an improve cooling and air circulation. Often standing the thing on one end so it's tall will help keep it cool. See if it goes for longer with better cooling.

Modded Xbox 360 gone bad

Mines not modded so i dont know. But when i plug mine in sometimes when i turn it on that happens. I just unplug and plug it in again and it works fine. Check all of the connections but you seem to be smart enough to do that if you modded it

Super Star 3900 GHP

Can't help you there. It's most likely that you screwed the modulator up by extending the frequency range. I used to work for Galaxy and I know what happens to a radio when amateurs try to modify them (no offense). If you modify a high power radio such as your Super Star, you're bound to have modulation and SWR problems. In expert advice, never do amateur radio modifications to a high power radio. If you want a more versatile radio, get a Galaxy DX 2517 CB base station. The DX 2517 has PA/FM/AM/SSB/USB/LSB/CW modes, and bands A-F, and a frequency range from 25.615 to 29.205 MHz. The Galaxy DX 2517 has modifications that can be done right at the factory, they are optional however. The only thing I find annoying with the DX 2517 is that it's bulky, it leaves no room for any competition. When it was designed, the engineers left space saving out of the question.
Anyway, Good luck
and
Best Regards,
