Here's a solution: STOP BUYING GARMIN !! I purchased TWO c330's. Both of their batteries have failed. BOTH units take over two minutes to locate satellites (regardless of my location). BOTH units take a LONG time to switch from Daylight to Night screen mode. I bought Garmin's because I THOUGHT I would be getting quality merchandise. Was I ever wrong ! Guess next time I'll try Tom-Tom (already had Magellan's ---reliable but tended to get lost easily !)

Now that 7 years have passed, I have learned that the problem with thebatteries seemed to be limited to the "Street Pilot" Gamin's. I have had a few Nuvi's since my first review and they have not had any battery problems. I did have one that sometimes could not finds its location, but usually worked OK. I did try a Tom-Tom (total junk).

Remove the front silver colored plastic frame from the front. you can use your finger nail to pry it open (underneath the upper side). You will then see 4 screws which will open the front cover. the battery (round cylinger) is under the metalic bent plate (2 more shiny screws) between the speakers.

hope this helps.

good luck.

I have hp 110 mini windows 7 laptop and the problem I having is that the laptop won,t charge its not the battery so what could be the problem?

Best hope that it's the charger. You should chack it if it chages. to do that you need some electronic testers that probably you don't have so should take it to a repair shop and heve it checked.

How do i reinstall a battery in a 2001 chevy lumina? there is a wedge of some type i don't know where it goes

1. Place the battery in the car so that the red cable is closest to the positive (+) post and that the black is closest to the negative or (-) post.

2. once the battery direction is determined, the wedge can be put in place. The wedge normally fastens to the bottom battery tray and at the same time sets along side of or in a small recess cutout in the lower part of the battery. There should be a bolt or nut that fastens the wedge to the battery tray and allows one parts of the wedge to hold the battery at the same time. Place the wedge on the battery where it is to hold the battery and then tighten the nut/bolt down which should hold the battery down tight. Sometimes the nut or bolt used to hold the wedge down will get rusty and needs to be sprayed with a rust penetrant like "pb blaster". PB blaster can be purchased at most auto part stores and walmart.

I don't know where the positive cable from the battery goes

shawn, the battery postive has two red cables one goes 7 inches to the fusebox the other cable goes down then over to the passenger side to the the starter solenoid, which is directly connected to the starter.

The battery cables have six wires and I don't no how to install battery. I don't know what wire goes where

first of all there should only be two wires for battery(+) & (-) the six wires if it's a six cyclinder engine, then it sounds like your holding the spark plug wires, which run from your spark plugs to the distributor cap and I have no idea the make or model/year etc so I can't tell you the proper order, if your lucky they'll be numbers on the cap and that will tell you what wire plugs into where there but to which spark plug I'm not sure.

My 1997 Chevy Lumina will not turn on. I thought it was the starter since it started having difficulties turning on. The security light on the dash is permanently on. So i replaced the starter and tested...

REPLACE BATTERY CABLES THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE COULD BE SHORTING TO GROUND.REPLACE STARTER SOLENOID IF NOT BEEN REPLACED.BESURE TO PLACE BACK FLEXIBLE CONDUIT THAT GOES AROUND POSITIVE BATTERY KEEP FROM SHORTING TO GROUND. LAST TIME I SEEN BATTERY CABLES OVER HEAT WAS EITHER STARTER AND SOLENOID SHORTING OUT OR VERY LOOSE BATTERY CABLES CONNECTIONS. REPLACE BATTERY CABLES IF THEY ARE MELTED HAVE STARTER CHECKED OUT YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY STARTER STILL.

I have a 99 K2500 Suburban with a dual (isolated) battery system. I don't want the accessories to drain the starting battery.. Can't i just move the accessory feeds (from the starter or main...

I don't know how whatever accessories you have are hooked up but,

When I would run two batteries for my stereo in my car I had it connected to the auxilary battery. The isolators kinda **** because they are to send more power from the charging system to the battery that needs the most charge. They do not "isolate" as in makeing the system use one battery while not draining the other.

What I did was to hook a solenoid (mine was aftermarket but I think the old style Ford starter solenoids that bolted to a fender will do the same) inline of the battery cable so when my key was off one battery would be cut off from the other. That way I could play the sterio without draining the battery that started the car (the radio was on a rocker switch for when I needed to kill power).

Car battery is dead. I have a Black and Decker Simple Start car battery recharger. I can figure out how to plug the outlet part into the wall but I do not know what to do about the part that goes onto...

You should have 2 wires with clips = one red that you clip on the Positive [ + ] post of the battery, this may be marked red on the cable. The other black clips to the Negitive [ - ] post of the battery.
Don't plug in the charger untill you clip the wires to the battery, make sure the charger is set to 12 volts. If your cherger has a cigar lighter wire just plug it in to the dash port.
