PowerPc to an intel proccessor.

I have a iMac g4 and it has PowerPc. I cannot update it to any higher then 10.3.9. Please help me change it so I can update it.

You said your iMac G4 "has PowerPc", do you mean it has a processor upgrade card, or is it original equipment? To run 10.4, A.K.A. 'Tiger', your iMac G4 needs: built-in FireWire, at least 256 MB of RAM, a drive that can read DVD's, 3 GB or more of open disk space (4 GB if you want to install X-Code Developer tools). Does your iMac meets these minimums?

not really sure what you want? but here goes there is no way to upgrade the G4 to an intel by replacing its components. You need to buy an intel mac, do you want a specific machine recommendation if so buy either an intel imac or mac mini (if you buy a mac mini you will need to purchase a display as well)

Imac G4 0s 10,4.11 need a flash to watch hulu free tv

You can't watch Hulu on a PowerPC iMac G4. You need an Intel processor based Mac to watch Hulu and Netflix.

My IMac g4 has a not enter sign logo with flashing folder , after I installed a new 250GB hard drive that has OS X 10.5. I even updated my RAM up to 1000 GB. When I re-installed the old drive it work, but...

The folder and do not enter sign means that the drive is not compatible. I'm going to guess that the drive came out of an intel Mac that had leopard loaded on it. This is not going to work with a PowerPC Mac. Do a clean install of leopard and you should be fine. I believe g4's go up to 10.5 and g5's go up to 10.5.8.

My Nancy Drew computer game won't work

Hi longview924,

Unfortunately there is no way to make that game run on your mac. Your mac uses the older powerPC architecture (all G3, G4 and G5 macintosh machines use this architecture) but the game requires that you have a mac using the newer intel architecture.

I found the details of the system requirements here:
http://www.buzz99.com/1167/nancy-drew-trail-of-the-twister-system-requirements/

Intel and PowerPC processors are very different in how they work (Intel chips are CISC chips and powerPC chips are RISC chips), which is why there is no way around it. This is also the reason why apple dropped support for the powerPC architecture in mac OS 10.6 upwards.

Without meaning to sound harsh, it may be time to consider an upgrade - macs are very expensive but the intel macbooks are leaps and bounds faster than the powerPC range :)

Sims 3 won't install on my imac G4. I have Leopard 10.8 so I have the correct system requirements. When I click on install it keeps coming up Not supported on this architecture?

If you read the system requirements of Sims 3, it says that you need at least an Intel Core Duo processor, which the iMac G4 does not have. The iMac G4 has a PowerPC processor.

Can I change from powerpc to intel duo? If so, is it expensive?

Unfortunately, there is no practical way to upgrade from an older PowerPC machine to an Intel machine. In addition to the CPU chip itself needing to change, there are many aspects of the system that are not compatible. The only practical way to do this is to buy a new Intel CoreDuo machine.
The good news is that if and when you buy a new machine, you can easily transfer all of your software and settings via the OSX installer.
Good luck with your upgrade.

Switched from a g4 PowerPC to a g5 Intel Imac and now Mic has a lot of digital hiss

the Samson C01U picks up the noises running inside the computer, or laptop whichever you have. You can't change that. But if you want to get rid of it. I use Cool Edit Pro. There's this effect we have for Noise Reduction. I won't go further on unless you have this program, or something similar. But basically it takes out any unwanted static

Need User or Owner's Manual for Mac PowerPC G4

Mac help is built into the operating system on your computer. There really aren't any paper manuals for them. Here is a link to Apple's web site that should get you started: http://www.apple.com/support/imac/g4/
