Acer aspire 5570 does not power on with the charger plugged. It also does not come on with the battery. Charger has a green light

Remove the battery and try again.

If the laptop works ok with the charger connected (with battery taken out), then the battery needs to be replaced.

Refer to user guide on how to remove the battery.

The first step is to check both the charger and the battery at a shop. If both are good then it could be a connector problem where the charger plugs in

You may have a DC Jack issue and needs to be replaced. Common with Acer models using the yellow DC jacks.

And since the battery will not charge, it is most likely a component issue. Shorted MOSFET in the charge section.

If the computer turns off instantly after the power is pressed, either you are not plugged into the charger and the battery is empty, or there is a hardware fault that is preventing it from starting up properly.

if you are plugged into the charger and the battery has power as well, then try unplugging the power and take out the battery for 5 minutes, plug both back in and try to turn it on. if the same problem repeats then it is most likely a hardware issue.

If you are in warranty contact acer or your dealer, you will have to send / ship the laptop to acer warranty repair, more details from acer or your dealer.

If you are outside of warranty, take the laptop to a local professional for a diagnosis and a repair estimate.

Try another charger. If it turns on and chargers the unit you are currently using needs to be replaced. Do not leave your charger plugged in after charging your battery as this will shorten its life.

Sounds like a bad battery or the charger isn't putting out enough power even though the light is on.But most likely its the battery.

don't worry about it! A lot of chargers blink. Mine does, it just means its charging, and no not having a battery won't affect it

Did the battery seem to lose it's charge rapidly prior to this, this would be an indication of a battery losing it's useful life, or a problem with the charge system.

Have you tried to take the battery out, plug the computer to a wall outlet granted you have the power adapter which is the same as the charger cord I would think. If that works I would say you need a new battery. Sometimes the plug port where it connects in the computer wears, so try and wiggle the cord if you didn't get something the first time.
