Here is a video showing how to replace a Kirby fan impeller
SOURCE: Kirby G4 stopped working
maybe the impeller broke, that is the most common reason for '' loud noise''....then you must remember that the kiby will not switch on [ all G models ] if the bag and the front nozzle is not properly attached.....
SOURCE: Kirby G4 motor is very loud.
Hi There,
Most likely it's just the fan that is making the noise rather then the motor. The way the Kirby vacuums are designed, anything hard that's vacuumed up such a coin, or other hard things can break the fan.
In order to check and see if it's your fan, remove the front part of the vacuum that contains the roller brush and belt. If you're not sure how to do this, here's a video that shows you how to change the belt, but will also explain how to get the front bell shaped housing off:
Once you have the front cover off, look inside the vacuum directly behind the motor shaft. You will be able to inspect the fan here. Turn the motor shaft which also turns the fan, and see if there's any cracks, or if the fan blade is broken. I think most likely you'll see the fan damaged somehow.
Here's a video repair that we've put together that explains step by step on how to replace the suction fan on your Kirby:
Part 2:
Hopefully this helped you fix your Kirby. Please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback if this was helpful to you. Thanks so much,
Chris Jones
