My clock was unplugged and then the batteries were removed, I've spent about half an hour now trying to figure out how to reset it. If anyone has any ideas that'd be great!
First, move the slide switch at the left rear of the top of the unit all the way to the right. You'll see the colon blinking, indicating that you are in 'set' mode. Now turn the dial that surrounds the ON/OFF button on the top of the unit. You can move it clockwise or counterclockwise, to change the time forward or backward. When done, move the slide switch back to the far left. Done.

I'm not familiar with this clock, believe it's designed to begin lighting a half hour or so before the alarm is set.
Short of any detailed information, I would suspect that he battery(s) is getting old (weak).
Here's what I would do, remove the battery, unplug the clock for say, 20 minutes to allow the internals to clear. Then plug it back in and reinstall the battery (if the battery is more than a year old, install a new battery.)
if the clock radio is coming back on without being plugged in or still has the time on it when plugging it back in, it probably has a backup battery, take the battery out. Why can't you just reset the time to the correct time, just push the time set button, then the hour button, etc.

You've either got a bad motherboard or a bad processor (I'd lean to the motherboard being bad). I would honestly take this into a computer repair shop and have them check both.

Heh, great. I have the same problem. I LOVE this alarm clock, but I can never tell if it's 6:48 or 5:15. I've tried 4 different alarm clocks now and I keep going back to the one I can't read. I was trying to find an answer to what to do about it and came across this. Maybe there is no solution...

For the Clock/Radios that are having problems with the clock display and settings. You will have to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio from the wall outlet and remove the internal battery. You must let the Clock/Radio set with no power for at least 1 hour to discharge the microprocessor circuits. The microprocessor should then be able to reset itself. You can then reinsert the battery and plug the Clock/Radio into the a/c wall outlet. The functions should have reset and be working normally. If this does not solve the problem, try putting in a new battery (CR2430). Before putting in the new battery, unplug the clock radio and remove the old battery and let it set again for a few hours this time to try to reset the microprocessor. If this does not solve the problem (This includes the person with the complete Clock/Radio operation failure) you can call the Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio. Tell them the problems you are having with the operation of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. I hope this information helps you solve the problems your are having with your Clock/ Radios.
I have the same problem. I can't even figure out how to change minutes or hours on the clock.
Thanks
