Asko 1876 dishwasher soap flap opens as soon as power on.

Soap dispenser flap operates as soon as the mains on / off switch is operated , must be powered up all the time as unable to release opening mechanism until power turned off. Unit gets hot whilst dishwasher used , due to being powered up all the time. Looks like the control board being faulty???

I don't know about the control panel - I am having trouble with mine too, but in regard to the soap dispenser -- don't use it anymore. Just buy those little tablets. That is what the secretary at the repair shop told me when I had a problem and that's been fine.

Testimonial: "THE SOAP TABLETS ARE A GOOD IDEA , BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THE DISPENSER BEING POWERED ON ALL THE TIME AND POSSIBILY OVERHEATING. SO STILL NEED A SOLUTION"

Asko dishwasher serial number 073201552132 washer is not completing cycles. Dishwasher soap still in dishwasher when the soap should be used up

Does this happen every time? If not, this is what happens when something fall through the rack and stops the wash arms from spinning. Soap remains in dispenser and dishes are not cleaned. Secure loose items and nothing falls through the silverware basket.

Why does my detergent latch open up while the dishwasher is running?

If neither the detergent flap open or the rinse aid is being dispensed the this is usually down to a faulty or 'open circuit' solenoid that operates the dispensor unit.

Soap dispenser won't stay closed

Only two reasons this may happen. One is the dispenser is just bad (most likely) or that the timer is somehow malfunctioning and sending power to the soap dispenser all the time (least likely) You will usually know if its the second because the dispenser will get really warm after the dishwasher had been on for a few minutes.

My Asko D1716 dishwasher works fine apart from the soap dispenser. It won't open to release the soap.

Most likely it's a corroded door catch or a bad solenoid. Hopefully it's not the main control board. You'll need a repair manual or technician. A work around would be to use detergent tablets in the compartment

The soap isn't emptying out of the compartment during the wash cycle. 1. We didn't load any items too close to the dispenser. 2. We didn't use the Rinse program, just main wash cycle. 3....

Soap dispenser flap not opening

Not a solution but exactly the same problem. I should have sent the machine back (I bought mine about 2008 too) but by now, 2010, the machine is a complete waste of time and money. The soap dispenser fails to open every time, wasting money, water and my patience because I then have to hand wash after all. will try the suggested oil trick, but it was obviously a bad design to start with.

I would try using a different soap or less of your current soap.

Soap dispenser door doesn't open during cycle of my Maytag dishwasher

Kqon, looks like your dispenser has a wax motor. I think the first thing you have to do is remove the inner door and inspect the soap dispensor assy. See if any of the moving parts are broken. This wax motor is 120V so you can run a cheater cord to it to see if it works, but be very careful when doing this. It will expand the plunger and open the flap. If the wax motor operates with 120V applied to it then you want to see if you have power coming from the timer. It will be the tan wire # 27 on the timer harness. You also want to make sure the spring and pin are in place on the dispenser flap. Your part number for the wax motor is 902899. Catriver.
