this could be the anti flood device has operated in the base of the machine. This is a polystyrene disc that is attatched to a microswitch. If there is water in the base of the machine this disc floats and turns on the pump

put it out from the source. check the pump to see if there is anything wrong with it. you can change the pump if there is a damage on it.

I had the same problem, but mine leaked every time. I have a kenmore ultra wash dishwasher no. 665.15762. I took the bottom rotating sprayer off and found that the plastic piece under the sprayer had a few loose screws and the rubber gasket, under that piece, had blown out at the corner facing the overfill protection float. I took out all the screws and re-mounted the gasket in place and put all the screws back and tightened them. It solved the problem. I hope that this helps others.

Your springs are faulty.you have two of them and will need to pull the unit out and inspect.usually on asko dishwasher you have to order the whole tension spring assembly .

Most likely is activated overflow system. This means water leaks under the dishwasher and is activated drain pump to prevent flooding. The simplest is to lean on either side the dishwasher so if there is water on the floor, that's it. Now you need to identify and repair the leaks. You can not be excluded that a defective triac by driving the drain pump placed on circuit board. It very rarely happens and some brands signals a failure by display or LED diodes . Dado

The drain cup normally has water in it after it drains. The pump runs it empty, but when it stops, some water runs back down from the drain hose, which you see in the drain cup. If there is water in the bottom of the tub, you may be having some siphoning coming back after draining. Check to make sure the drain hose has been routed up to the bottom of the countertop as per the installation instructions. That's what prevents siphoning, and its very important so it doesn't suck sewer water back in with the clean dishes!!

Check the manual for the meaning of the flashing lights, and then look on this site for solutions to the problem. If all lights are flashing the water fill has probably overflowed into the base pan. It is usually a simple fix that is detailed in several places. Check under Asko dishwashers of different models because many have the same problem.

I have a D3450 that was doing the same. Eventually I ascertained that there was a pressure switch that was not functioning properly. On the D3250 it was only accessible from the rear after taking off the lower panel on the back. It was a black part with a red membrane of sorts. I just disconnected its wire connector instead of replacing the part as it was rather expensive. I've been running mine machine at least 2x day for months since with no problems. Good luck!

The "High Water Level" in the machine can be triggered not only by the Styrofoam operated switch in the safety tray under the machine's tub, but also by the Overfill Pressure Switch pictured here

My previous post describes the erratic behavior this switch can cause. It seemed almost at random, the "High Water Level" condition would occur in whatever cycle I used.



It is easily located at the end of a small rubber hose visible when the kick panel and service covers are removed. Look just above where the electrical power terminal block is. The switch is held in place by the clip protruding from the top (as shown in the picture above). The sides of the clip need to be pressed towards the center to release the switch. I simply rotated the switch until the clip was turned to the longer side of the rectangular hole it clips in to. It then just fell out.

This pressure switch triggers the drain pump when too much water enters the machine, but it can malfunction and will keep the drain pump running "forever" until you turn off the breaker. Unfortunately, until the problem is rectified, the dishwasher "remembers" what it was doing when you disconnected the power and when you re apply power, the drain pump will again start draining your already empty dishwasher.

I pulled the connectors attached to the spade terminals on the switch back a bit and then forward as far as they would go ensuring all the wires had continuity from the terminal to the opposite end of the wire it was attached to. When I re applied the power, the empty dry dishwasher attempted to start up where it left off in the cycle it was on, but the "High Water Level" conditioned cleared. Pressing and holding the single button opposite the light left on canceled the cycle and the machine went into standby as it should.

I hope this helps someone else. Until I "Googled" the part number printed on the switch, I didn't know what triggered the "overfill" or "High Water Level" condition.

Part number on the part was 8058475. I also found out the small hose attached is part number 8058500. The small hose is not as readily available as the pressure switch, so extra care should be used when handling it.

The thing that immediately comes to mind is a faulty door switch or latch. The door switch can be replaced and you might be ok. But the latch would be more tricky to check. Sometimes if dishwasher is not level or if the door springs are misalinged the door tends to slip and release the latch due to pressure. It works when you open and shut. But not sure about the night time cycle. That sounds a bit creepy if it starts again by itself. Why not put a tape around the door and then start. That will help eliminate the obvious ones. The other thing that exends dishwasher cycle time is the lack of adequate water temperature. Could be heater or thermostat or both.
