Hi Nik,

There are a lot of variable that can affect file and folder access speeds, number one is the size of each, followed by how full the drive is and degree of fragmentation.

The first and easiest steps to take would be:

  1. Clean up the hard drive. In MyComputer or Explorer, right click on your hard drive, select Properties and perform a disk clean up. The second Tab I think.
  2. Next, located in the same area, Defragment the drive
These two alone should notably increase your access speeds.

Hope this is very helpful

Every folder in windows when "thumbnails" view is given saves file named "Thumbs.db" in which small photos are saved which for internal content, and also "desctop.ini" is saved in folder, sometimes some incorrect datas or very big ammount of information is saved in this file, try unhide hidden files and delete those two files manually, it will reset folder wiew and will become it faster. also you can create separate folder and move content in it and then delete old one but be careful dont use ctrl+a to mark all files, because it also copys those mentioned files and result will be same, you will still suffer from waiting folder to open, better to copy by drag and drop.

Downloading photos from Sony DSC-P100 to computer running Windows 7

Please check below for information about the compatibility of your Sony DSCP100 camera.

Windows 7
* Drivers:
The drivers needed to connect your Sony camera to a computer and transfer files are already included in the operating system.

Not Supported: The Windows 7 Starter edition is not supported.

Check here how to transfer video clips to a computer running a Windows operating system:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. While the camera power is off, connect it to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
3. Make sure the camera is using a fully charged battery pack or connected to an optional AC power adapter and that it is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

NOTE: Avoid using a battery pack with little remaining charge because transferring may fail or image data might be corrupted if the battery pack shuts down too soon.

4. Make sure media with the recorded video is inserted in the camera.
5. Turn on the camera.

NOTES:
On the LCD screen, a USB indicator will display during and after the communication session.
If this is the first time the camera has been connected to the computer, the computer should automatically install the appropriate USB driver at this time.

6. Transfer the pictures or videos to the computer using one of the following methods:
6.1 Use the Import pictures and videos option.
In the AutoPlay window, click Import Pictures and videos using Windows .
In the Import Pictures and Videos window, click Import Settings .
In the Import Settings window, click the Browse button.
Click to select the location on the computer where you want to copy the movie files (for example My Videos ).
Click the OK button.
In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, click the OK button.
Click the Import button.

6.2 Use Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software
Using PMB version 4.3 or older
Using PMB version 5.0 or later

Copy and paste the video files from the Removable Disk window that represents the camera.
a. Open the My Computer or Computer window on the computer.
b. In the My Computer or Computer window, double-click the icon that represents the camera.
c. Click to select the appropriate camera folder that contains the video or picture files you want to transfer.
c.1 The DCIM folder (if available) contains still picture .JPG, or .ARW files and .AVI video files.
c.2 The MP_ROOT folder (if available) contains standard and high-definition .MP4 video files.
c.3 The AVCHD folder (if available) contains high-definition .MTS video files.

NOTE: Depending on your camera and the type of footage recorded, not all the files or folders above may be displayed.
On the computer keyboard, press CTRL+C to copy the camera folder and its contents.
Browse to the location on the computer where you want to copy the picture or video files, such as the My Pictures or My Videos folder.
Press CTRL+V to paste the camera folder and its contents into the computer folder you selected in the above step.

NOTES:
* Movie player software must support the MPEG-4 format to playback standard or high definition .MP4 recordings.
* Movie player software must support the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format to playback high-definition .MTS recordings.
* Refer to the developer of your movie player software for information about file format compatibility.
* For the video to be viewable in the PMB software, the folder where the videos or pictures were saved must first be registered in the software. Information about how to register folders is available in the PMB Guide in the Help section of the software.

I dont know how to put videos on the eclipse

When you connect your Eclipse to your computer, it should show up as a removable drive, possibly appearing as drive "E" or "F" in windows explorer. You can open the folders inside the eclipse, for instance, music, movies, text, etc. Once you find those folders, you can find the video you want to load to your eclipse on your hard drive, possibly in you 'documents' folder. Then you highlight the video you want to put on your Eclipse, right click while placing the mouse pointer over the video file and select "copy".
Go to your "movies" folder on your Eclipse, double click the "movies" folder to open it, then right click on a white space inside the "movies" folder window and select "paste". This will place your video on your Eclipse.

If you have found this answer helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Thank You,

Trying to use movies saved in flipshare in movie maker want to save the flipshare files as mpeg, flipshare is saving them as jpeg How do I save the videos in flipshare as mpeg...why are they saving as...

Flip video camcorder has made its name world wide. It's very creative, cool and super simple. You can email videos (it will automatically compress and reformat the video to an acceptable size), save videos locally (you can organize them by creating folders), share videos online via AOL and edit them as well. It also has very simple yet functional video editing capacity; the four family members Flip Mino, Flip Mino HD, Flip Ultra and Flip Ultra HD will definitely meet demands of a large quantity of population with different preference.

At the time we are happy for ourselves for having purchased it to make some memorable videos that we can share in a blink of the eye with our friends and family. We find there is something flip video just can’t do, flip video produces h.264 and mp4 files. But some one would prefer the. Mpeg file as output format. Is there a shortcut to convert flip to mpeg?

Flip video to mpeg converter is a very powerful and easy-to-use Flip Video to mpeg video converter app. It can convert any Flip video to mpeg with flexible settings and high conversion speed. The program supports Flip Mino, Flip Mino HD, Flip Ultra and Flip Ultra HD. Flip video to mpeg converter allows you to convert multiple video files at a time, trim your video files to capture your favorite video clips, crop movie video, and set movie effects and so on.

I want to know how to put videos on my sandiisk

he Sandisk technical support told me you must use the Sansa Converter to transfer a video file.I also came across this,

DVDShrink 3.2, its free and can dl from http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/dvdshrink32setup.zip
Any Video Converter Free edition, AVC can dl from http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
If DVD is copy protected I use AnyDVD from www.Slysoft.com There is a free trial period but well worth the money and has lifetime upgrades for free

First use Shrink to rip the DVD. If its got copy protection then first launch AnyDVD then relaunch shrink
You can set shrink to either rip the entire DVD or just the main movie and its its pretty self explanitory, Just select the one audio you want or go to a site like doom9.org if need further info on it. I usually click the Reauthor button and select just the main title and the one audio track I want. then click backup

Then Run AVS. Select the vob files you want to put on your View. For encoding I use the folllowing settings:

Profile that worked for me using VOB sources is : Customized MP4 movie, others say to use Mobil phone mp4 but I have bad luck with that one myself.

From the menu: Edit, Options:

Audio Tab:
-MPEG Type: MPEG-4
-Object Type: Main
-Encode: CBR
-MP3 Volume: Default
-Audio Quality: Default

Video Tab:
-Video Driver: DirectX
Video Resize must be checked for non-native 320x240 (4:3) video sources. Use “Fit to Width” for widescreen video sources, use “Fit to Height” for long video sources. Both “Fit” modes must have checked “Round to 16 Pixels”. In this way you preserve the aspect ratio of the original source, while still creating a View compliant 320x240 video.

From the output video settings box on the lower right:

Video Options:
-Video Codec: x264 (IMHO produces slightly better video, but slightly larger tho)
-Video Size: 320x240
-Video Bitrate: 512
-Video Framerate: 29.97 (again 29.97 for NTSC DVD and other NTSC sources, others keep at their original framerate, this will keep audio in sync) I set to 30 fps and have had no problems so far

Audio Options:
-Audio Codec: aac
-Audio Bitrate: 128
-Sample Rate: 44100
-Audio Channel: 2
-Disable Audio: No
-A/V Sync: Default
-Audio Track: Default

Click encode and it will create the proper format files.

Then to add the videos to your View open 2 explorer windows one browse to the folder the files were outputed to and the other go to your view and open the Movies folder.
Then just drag the files from yoour HD to the View folder.

To be fair some of this info I got from other posts here but so far its worked the best for me

Deleting songs

Chances are that you are using windows xp. open up your sansa folder to where it says pictuer, movies, ect. look at the picture to see what to do. In your player folder click tools --> folder options --> View. Under hidden files and folders click 'show hidden files and folders, click ok. The music folder would now show up where the videos and pictures are. Simply open the music folder and delete the ones you do not want. By default the songs are sorted by artist --> album --> song.
