How do I retrieve messages left in the operator's voice mail?

I am the receptionist. We have a Panasonic KX-T7453 phone system. My message light is on and I don't have a clue how to retrieve that message. When I hit the message button, it gives me the extension number in my display as to who left the message but I don't know how to listen to it.

If you pick up the handset and press the button it will call back whom ever left the message. (that extension you see.) If it is not the voice mail extension, it was just a request to have the receptionist call back. Doing so should clear the lamp.

How do i set up a voice mail on a panasonic kx-t7453. If I leave the office I would like to caller after a few rings to go to voice mail.

The KX-T7453 isn't a voicemail system. Please refer to the documentation for whatever voicemail system you have connected.

Panasonic kx-t7453 corded digital super hybrid system How do I turn my voicemail box on so a caller can leave a message at my extension? thank you

Pretty much, it depends on what happens when you dial 165. That's the voice mail access number for a Panasonic TD phone system with Pana VM. If you get the voice mail lady, set the box up and then from the intercom dial 7102/3/4/5 where 2 is all/3 is busy, 4 is no answer and 5 is busy/no answer and 165 or whatever the VM access number is and possibly # (I forget if it's required). That will light the FWD/DND light and send calls to the voice mail system.

How do I check my voice messages on my KX-T7453. It is not in the handbook.

True, it's not in the "handbook" because it's in the subcriber's guide to whatever voice mail system you have. Try looking for it, but in the meantime, dial 165 and see what happens. If it's a Panasonic brand TVx box, it should answer and either ask for a passoword or you'll be listening to messages.

The owner of the voice mail system, called the message manager, will have the password for mailbox 998. That's where general delivery messages get left sometimes. The system owner has the password for mailbox 999. That's the administrator's mailbox and it lets you change passwords and set up the dial by name directory.

If I call an extension and they don't answer how do I program the phone so that I can leave that person a message? I'm using Panasonic KX-T7453 Thanks Chris

Press the MESSAGE button. It will light the lamp on the receiving station and when they press MESSAGE it will show that you called.

If you're trying to program "voice mail", then there are specific instructions to setting Call Forward No Answer or just dialing into the VM sytsem and dialing #6 and their extension to leave a direct message.

Panasonic KX-T7453

If there is a voice mail button on the other set/s, press it, then [#][6], then [*] and your mailbox number.
If there is no button, press [intercom] 165, [#][6], [*] and your maibox number.
Note that 165 is a common voice mail extention number, but it may vary from site to site.

Panasonic kx-t7453, night mode message programming

Do you mean have calls transferred to voice mail? Go into system programming and change 408 (DIL 1:1 Nite) to point to the ext of the voice mail port, which depends on your system. That number is found in 118

Remote Access

When you call in from the outside wait for auto attendant to answer. As soon as the "Thank you for calling" starts, press [*], and your mailbox number. If that does not work you may need to put a [#], 165 before the [*], mail box. This is assuming that most voice mail and auto attendant settings are operational and you have a Panasonic KX-TVS voice mail.
If a live person (not to be confused with the living dead) answers, have them transfer you to voice mail and do the whole [#], 165, [*], your mail box thing.

Message light won't come on

The voice mail turns the message waiting light on and off. The voice mail is a separate part from your phone system. Usually this is a standard setting at default for each extension but most voice mails will allow you to turn it off. Any way you look at it, this would be a system programming issue. You will need to either pay a company to make the change or you need to know which Panasonic system (and voice mail) you have and obtain system "programming" manuals. (not user guides)
