Today I picked up a pioneer sd-643hd5 from someone that was having issues with the unit, this is a 64 inch widescreen projection unit.
Basicly the unit was trapped in standby mode, after a great deal of research I opened up the unit to discover that on the power supply/ middle board the middle and right fuse were blown.
more research indicated that a 5A fuse was generally found in the middle of these 3 fuses
What was located in the unit from left to right was 5a 125v then in the middle: 4a 125v and on the right a 5a 125v
I replaced the middle and right fuse with corrisponding types, fired up the machine, it went into standby then went green for all of 2 seconds. so I replaced the the fuses again only this time I put a 5 amp in the middle as well. This time the unit fires up but sputters in green mode before finally giving up. it however is not blowing the fuses.
My question is this, what spec fuses are supposed to be in these spots

The fuses may not be your problem--I have fixed several of these---The large power board is on the right side as you look from the back?
Lots of these sets develop bad solder connections on that board--several sites on the internet offer to have you remove and send them the board to resolder--this set used lead free solder and after some years has problems--a few I have opened had clearly broken solder joints--I usually in this case remove the board(mark all the many plugs and make a diagram) and solder almost all of it by hand----usually fixes this kind of trouble.

If you look at the circuit board, the proper fuse for the spot is listed next to it, I think on the right hand side.

origional poster here: Well here is the thing on the back of the power supply assembly the light thats comming on is the little red one on the board that says power supply assembly? I havnt gone as far as to pull the boards yet but I do believe the def assembly has at least 1 loose circut.
