Broken air regulator on a husky portable air compressor model H1820F
Just to add to the posted advice which would have prevented the repair I'm having to make and the things I'm learning the hard way as I'm fixing the stripped regulator on my H1826F from 2008...
here's the damage:
Other thing that was tricky is getting the cover off the top to get at the guts - most of the holes held screws - easy to get off, but the bottom holes were tricky as the bolts are so far in it's hard to tell what you are dealing with... here's what I found after I broke things (gotta love superglue - it's all better now):
once you get the bolts turning, loosen them till the cover will pull apart and you'll get them both off in one piece, threads intact.
On the H1820F, the regulator locking nut sets too far behind the cover to reach. After setting the pressure, if you do not lock the knob normal vibraion will cause the threads to chatter and strip out and then you will have to replace the regulator.
Best to remove the cover so you can reach this lockinhow do i repair a broken air regulator on a husky - _825.jpgr />
You will have to repalce the air regulator. Campbell Hausfeld is the maker of the Husky air compressors. There should be a different model number on your compressor that you can use to locate the part number on the chpower.com website. The only problem that I have come into is that the parts are not available for these models on a long term basis, and they may not offer any repair parts at all. If you can not locate the part on the Campbell Hausfeld site call Home Depot and ask them where you can get the part.

I don't actually think this is the right regulator for the Husky compressor. The gauge is on the wrong side (take a look at the pic for the more "official" part here:http://www.mastertoolrepair.com/air-regu... The Stanley Bostitch part is a mirror image.
