Tappan gas oven won't turn on

Tappan gas oven (model 12-4990-00/04). The oven can be set with the electronic panel, but then instead of turning on the oven, the setting disappears from the panel. This happens regardless of the setting (bake temp, broiler, preheat, etc.). The only thing that seems to work is the timer.

There is a possibility that the switch is not wired correctly or perhaps your selector knob is on upside down i have seen this before.

My tappan oven won't work. stove and broiler work fine. ignighter glows but it seems like there is no gas.

I would check with your manufacturer and see if a professional can diagnose the regulator and even the gas valve itself.

I have a tappan series 110 gas range. The burners work but the oven won't ignite. When I set the oven temp it glows but no ignition.

Weak Glowbar/ignitor.

Hi,

Just because it glows that does not mean it is not bad...
The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

Tappan gas range model 72-3981-00/07. Upper oven does not ignite even though the igniter comes on and glows yellow.

The ignitor is weak and must be replaced. When you get the new ignitor turn off the gas supply and the power to replace the ignitor.
Remove the oven racks,remove the oven base pan,remove the flame spreader to access the ignitor.

Husband is trying to change a part, and needs to turn the gas off to oven. How do turn gas off on model 12-2299-10/05, SSN DF 23500427, manufactured 1992.

There should be a gas shutoff **** inside a adjacent cabinet or on the gas line behind the stove.

Your gas valve is defective. Replace the safety valve.(gas valve).
