I bought a used Golden Companion II and we bought new batteries for it. After charging them, the horn & lights work, but we can't get the scooter to move. Are we missing something?

Search for a mechanical drive engagement. If not, the motor may be bad.

SOURCE: Golden Companion Scooter not moving - diagnosed via owner manual

Hi. Many scooters will display this fault code if the potentiometer is not exactlly centred when you turn on the key. The pot is not always faulty. Some scooters also have a smaller additional pot to controll the speed. If this pot is faulty it will cause the same fault code. Any other switches such as indoor/ outdoor switches. I have had a few machines fitted with curtis controllers where the fault is in the controller.
Check the wiring and plugs and connectors.
Good luck. Neil.

Charging problem the red light and green light or both on when charging and the batteries don't seem to be charging

sounds like the batteries are dud, most chargers have 2 or 3 lights, red (max charging) Amber (battery nearing full charge) Green (fully charged and most will switch to a trickle charge) has the scooter been out of use for some time as scooter / wheelchair batteries must be kept charged, and only a short time of no use can destroy the batteries.

Golden companion II full charge turn key on press lever to go forward it dont move hear clicking sound green light on dash blinks

John count the number of flashes by the green light and it will be the fault code indicating the problem Your owners manual should list the fault codes to be able to determine what the problem is. Ie 4 blinks pause 4 blinks pause. The clicking you hear is the electric brakes being engaged. Hope this helps

I need the wiring diagram for the Golden buzzaround scooter I need to check the wiring to be sure it is correct as it is not working! Have new batteries with fully charged indication and horn works but no...

Most manufacturers consider wiring diagrams like that to be proprietary information and will not release them if the scooter is a current, active model. Make sure that the manual brake/freewheel level is in the drive position and that there are no flashing lights on your controller which can indicate a problem. If you continue to have issues, contact the manufacturer to see if their Tech Support can assist you over the phone; 800-624-6374.
Good luck!

Suspect the charger is shot on a seldom used like new Companion II. The batteries are at 3 volts but the charger red light wont illuminate when plugged in. Green light comes on, but not the red. I did see...

MStrong The charger will not charge batteries that are reading that low Replace the batteries and try the charger again. Remember to always charge before use and never charge longer than 12-16 hours. Get into the habit of charging overnite on scooters used everyday and once a week on seldomly used scooters always sore the scooter fully charged and if storing for a longer time remove the batteries and store fully charged. ope this helps you

My Golden Companion II scooter is fully charged & it won't go

Hi.Sounds very much as if your brake unit has burnt out. If you bought the machine new in Feruary, then it is probably still under warranty.
Get your supplier to fix it for you.

When you say the charge is limited, how far do you travel? Also what sized batteries do you have in your machine? Bigger batteries mean you can travel further. Batteries last best if they are not run more than half flat while you are using the machine. You should work on half the distance that is printed in the pamphlet for the distance you can travel.
Do you always charge your batteries overnight after each use.
Hope this helps. Neil.
