General Ice Cream Maker Instructions... This should give you the general idea on how to use any ice cream maker. Typically, the ice cream straight out of the maker will be soft so the ice cream typically goes into the freezer to "set"/harden the ice cream.
The ice cream maker should have a container inside of the larger outer container. The ice cream mixture goes into the inner container and the outer container holds the ice-salt mixture.
1. Prepare your ice cream mixture and chill.
2. Pour the chilled mixture into the inner container about 3/4 fulls.
3. Insert the Mixing paddle and cover the inner container
4. Turn on motor and while it's running, add 2 inches of ice on the bottom of the bucket. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup salt over ice. Continue layering ice and salt until the ice level reaches the top of the rotating ice cream can.
5. As the ice cream maker runs, add more ice and salt to ensure the ice level is above the mixture level in the inner container.
6. In about 20 to 40 minutes, the ice cream maker should stop churning.
7. Remove the lid and pack down ice cream in the can.
8. Cover and place ice cream can in freezer for several hours to harden.

The instructions are on the "mix" packs, all you need is the half & half, rock salt and a freezer. Freeze the canister, insert the canister into the receiver, add the mix and the half & half (on the pack), cap it add the ice around the canister, add the salt over the ice, turn on the machine and stand back.
