You might finalize them on DVD recorder even if they small size.
Good luck

I just bought the Hitachi DZ-MV550A NTSC camcorder and I cant get it to play on dvd player on the TV Can you please help me Thank you

you need to finalize the disc. With the recorded disc in, hit the "disc navigation" button and you will see a place to hit "finalize". Move cursor to "finalize" and then click "yes". You can only finalize a disc using the AC power source, it will not do it from your battery. You should then be able to play it on your dvd player.

I have a Hitachi mega pixel dz-mv780e dvd cam and when i put a completed disc into my laptop it wont play, can you please advise what i need to do [email protected] Thank you

If the camcorder does finalize the disc? What type of disc is it? Some of the disc that work in that camcorder like a ram disc will not work in a regualr dvd player, only use -r disc's if you want to make a disc to use elsewhere. The other option is that the dvd camcorder needs the dvd drive replaced if it is still available. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. There is also a firmware update available for that camcorder.

Cant unfinalize disk, please help

First of all - only DVD-RW discs in VIDEO mode can be unfinalised.

To unfinalise a disc

1. Place the camcorder on a table or other stable surfacebefore starting. Even slight impacts tothe camcorder ater the unfinalise process starts may mean you permanently lose your data.
2. Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter. You cannot unfinalise if the camcorder is powered only with the battery pack.
3. Press the 'FUNC.' key
4. Use the joystick to select 'MENU' - it's in the botom left corner of the screen
5. Use the joystick to select 'DISC OPERATIONS'
6. Use the joystick to select 'UNFINALIZE'
7. Use the joystick to select 'YES' to answer the question 'do you wish to continue?'

Don't forget to rate this solution once you've tried it !

Hitachi DZ-MV200A DVD Camcorder

You can get them at Best buy. You must buy the same disc as it is spelled out on the side of the camera. Buy, DVD-RAM/R. There are DVD+ and DVD-, you must be sure to buy just like it's printed on the camera (just under the viewfinder).

Can I play the DVD on the camcorder before it has been finalized?

Yes: DZ-MV380 and DZ-MV350 provide playback capability with non-finalizing DVD-R disc.
