It sounds like your dealer didn't properly set up incoming call distribution groups. They probably just gave you the "default" settings and left you a manual, took the check and said, "Good bye, and good luck!"
I think you mean
transfer instead of
forward. Your incoming calls should go through an Incoming Call Group - even if you're the only person in the group. Then you can handle the calls as they come in, transfer them out, and if you run out of buttons the system can even queue the calls up until you can get to them.

i could always transfer calls to other phones in the same group, until one day our electricity went out and when it came back on, my line did not work, however the other phone lines worked. then i connected my line to another plug-in in the office, then i could only answer calls, but could not transfer calls. what can i do?
