b> The Touch Pro2, manufactured by HTC, is a smartphone designed to be used with the Verizon wireless phone network. This smartphone combines a cell phone, PDA, MP3 player and wireless Internet access into a small, portable device. If the device begins malfunctioning or freezing, you can perform a soft reset. A soft reset does not delete any of your saved information. It shuts the phone down and reboots the phone to the Verizon Today Welcome Screen.

Pull the stylus upward to remove it from the side of the phone. Push the back cover upward using your thumbs until it pops from the back of the Touch Pro2 phone. The back cover can then be lifted away and removed from the phone. Press the "Reset" button, on the upper, left side of the back panel using the stylus tip. The device will now restart and display the Verizon Today screen. Snap the back cover back onto the back of the phone. Touch Screen is Not Working

Many Tablet PCs include a program for calibrating the touchscreen. This program may fix minor responsive issues. Even a small amount of dirt or debris can effect how the touchscreen responds. Cleaning your touchscreen with an electronics cleaner or a microfiber cloth may help improve sensitivity. b> Software Issues b> A driver is a software program that interacts between hardware devices and an operating system, Your Tablet PC needs the right drivers for your OS to work correctly. Outdated or missing drivers can cause the touchscreen to work improperly, or not respond at all. Visit the manufacturer's website to find the right drivers for your Tablet PC. b> Repair b> While you can perform some minor repairs yourself, such as re-calibrating the touchscreen sensitivity or installing drivers, only perform a hardware repair if you have a good working knowledge of electronics, specifically Tablet PCs. Before attempting to repair your device, contact your manufacturer. If your Tablet PC has a warranty, completing an unauthorized repair may make you ineligible for claiming that warranty. Try calibrating the screen. Go to Settings > Local & text > Touch Input > Text Input > Calibration Tool

Would you mind telling us, what it is that's broken. Did the lcd physically broke (i.e. in serveral pieces)? In that case, you have to replace it.
Did it just stay black? Could you check (with a bright lamp) whether you can see a hint of a little, then? If so, the backlight has gone bad. If not, or if you can see it lighting up on start, but it stays black, it might be the connector...
If the screen itself works, but the touch part of the touchscreen does not, look around here, there's a solution in a thread called "HTC touch pro... touch screen has stopped working".

Did you try to restart it?? I had such a problem and the restart helped.

If your phone isn't modified, then screen goes off - it's factory pre-set. If your phone is modified then you have to check which tweaks are applied and change settings.

The touchscreen is a thinlike mylar sheet that overlays the screen. Once damaged, all you can do it get it replaced. To verify if the touchscreen is "smashed", try using the thumbwheel or up and down buttons. If you can move around the display, then this means the touchscreen is damaged but will not prevent you from using your device, that is, until you turn it in for repair/replacement.

go to htc.com and download the last rom for touch pro and it will be fine!
NB: I downloaded the arabic rom wich have two features
1- on the first Installingthe rom is english
2- As u can active arabic, you can also disable it if you are foreign users but it will be better to install it without acivating arabic (case 1-)

I had a stubborn version of the dead touchscreen problem. Screen was dead this morning upon power-up and no combination of hard or soft resets made any difference. Removed screen protector (which had worked fine for a year) and cleaned out seam of screen too - still no change. Ten days past warranty expiration - figures!! Eventually I concluded there was nothing left to try but a ROM upgrade, even though I didn't expect that to help... IT DID!! I'm a Bell customer in Canada, so I downloaded the latest Bell ROM from here: http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=70&act=sd&cat=all and did the install. Lo and behold - touchscreen working like new!!! My original version was factory 1.<xxxx> and newest was 3.<xxxx>. Fix cost me a day of surfing, but better than $400!!
