Samsung TV remote. I noticed today my TV remote wasn't working. I changed the batteries and noticed there had been some leakage from the AAA batteries. Since changing the batteries the 8 buttons on the top of the remote don't work. Source, power, light ,TV Cable VCR DVD and STB. All other buttons 90% of the unit work fine. I have tried to see if the RC can be opened but it doesn't have any screws or obvious indications of how this can be done. I have read the TV manual and tried resetting the TV remote (as stated in the manual) but no luck. Any ideas?

Replace it with a Universal Remote with Learning, This way, if the new Universal codes in its Manual don't work for your Samsung, (they most likely will if the new remote is not used older one bought off eBay) then you can Teach it to Learn codes off the working keys on you Samsung.

Sony Learning Remotes are a very good choice, sold at Walmart or eBay. The advantage to a good Universal, is you can also program in all your other audio/video remotes into one remote.

Giving you some hints. Battery leakage is one enemy of tv control and other remote control. They can corrode your battery spring contact, give contact bridges with neighboring tracks that can cause erratic behavior of your remote.

Some repairs can be done but doesn't guarantee success. First is try to clean the corrosion on battery contact = no power usually. Erratic behavior cause by contact bridging = battery leak residues.

Opening a remote control. Some have screws on its small foot. Covered by a rubber or sticker. Some are notch clip in strategic location you have to fry that one by one, opening first on its weakest side. In some don't want to be open.

Cleaning the board by a soft eraser is one way. After you open the remote. Commonly the button area where contact takes place.

If the first procedure and cleaning doesn't work. Buy new remote or use universal remote controller.

My samsung model LN32A330J1NXZA remote stoped working

Change batteries and look for any leakage of batteries inside which should definitely have spoiled the PCB and connectors. If these are ok, take the remote near to any radio and tune to any Short Wave band, to a place where there are no stations. Now press buttons of remote, and if you can listen to click noise when you press all the buttons one by one, the remote is ok, and the sensor in the TV has some problem. But make sure there is no gum or any other sticker on the sensor which might prevent sensing.

Had my samsung dlp tv repaired today. tvs fine now but the remote does not work(still works on dvd player) direct tv remote does power on tv either or control volume anymore

It sounds that the remote control should be programmed once again with TV with its setup codes. Setup codes for Samsung TV are:

0105 0077 0076 0109 0007 0009 0004 0005 0085 0172 0942 0358 0012 0015 0080 0104 0106
Check these codes, and select one which have maximum functionality with your TV.

Samsung LN46C530 TV. Have had the TV around 1.5 months. It appears that the remote sensor on the television has stopped working. Both remotes work but the TV doesn't read them. Is there a quick fix for...

G'Day
I have a similar Samsung set... and found that the remote sensor is rather low gain. I noticed the same thing when I first got the set. The remote did not seem to work. Pointing it directly at the right side corner at the power light of the set seemed to allow it to work. 10 degrees away from that either side and it does not work. I also had 2 remotes that behaved in a similar manner(got an additional free 22" set with my purchase). I also suggest changing the batteries out as the ones supplied with the set are generally low brand, and may not last that long.
Other than that, you may need to contact Samsung service to have the set replaced/repaired. Your best point of contact here is the retailer that sold you the set. If they cannot arrange for the repairs for you, let me know where in the world you are, and i will get a contact number for you.
