I am having the same problem, it is like the heating element for the sealer is broken.My unit actually will NOT seal if I push the manual seal, but the vacuum works.
Sealing always tends to be the problem with FoodSaver because during the course of normal wear and tear, the sealing strip and wire will naturally need to be replaced.

Hi, No, the heating strip is actually a wire that get s warm the do the sealing...when the wire breaks there is no more heating and there is no way to repair that wire...
The transformer can be found at a good wholesale electronics store, it is 12 volt and will register slightly higher with ohm meter. You can also use a 220 to 24 volt transformer.
