One setting that will drain your battery extremely fast is having the GPS set to "Always-On," or "Location-On." Instead, try setting it to "E911" or "Emergency only." This stops constantly transmitting your exact location unless you dial 911.

I have an imate 9502. For some time now it went dead on its own - and it's impossible to switch it on. It doesn't even seem to be charging cause the led doesn't light up! i've tried all sorts of voodoo...

Have you already tried to replace its battery? Maybe it is dead. If you happen to have a friend who also owns a 9502, try to borrow his battery pack, for test purposes. Otherwise, eBay offers some of them, like, e.g.,

Hi Guy, Peter Here. Just a quick question, How do I get Google Gmail on my PC, to recognize that Gmail IS ALREADY loading and working on my Imate 9502 Ultimate Mobile phone, and start synchronizing; please...

Start ActiveSync on your 9502 and set it to synchronize with an exchange server. Give your e-mail address, and, if required, the server URL 'm.google.com', and your login credentials to gmail. Follow the screens and make sure you check the box to synchronize your e-mail. By clicking on some 'advanced' hyperlinks (blue colored) along the way, you will be able to set e.g. if you want to receive all the messages currently on the server, or from the last 3 days only, attachments handling, synchronization schedule, and other settings.
Hope you are able to do it without problems.
Cheers! Carlos

Just got a second hand JAMin. It will not turn on. It hasn't been used for a year. Would i have to buy a new battery for it?

Try holding the power button for at least 5 seconds and when you feel a slight vibration, it's all a go. Hope this will help as I had the same problem with my my Imate 9502.

Cheers!
