The larger batteries should have made them run for longer on a single charge. They aren't 35 amp batteries, they are 35 amp *hour*. 12 volts is the thing that matters. Check the batteries are correctly fitted and make sure the motors are clean. The fact they go down faster is puzzling and for that, I would exchange the batteries as they sound faulty.
Answer Edited for clarity. However, the motors are now the issue.

If you obtained the Hoveround directly through Hoveround, please contact them for expert solutions. http://www.hoveround.com or 1-800-96-HOVER. They made the chair, they KNOW the chair best, and can provide the right answers!
Check to make sure nothing has wrapped around the drive tires or axles that may be causing the motors to run improperly. Make sure your drive tires are fully inflated to 45-50 PSI. If you are still having problems with the chair pulling to one side, listen as you operate your power chair for any noise or vibration. A chirping sound can indicate a bad motor, grinding or rubbing can indicate bad bearings in the casters. Motor replacement can be costly, unless your insurance can pay for it. If you got your power chair from a second party, you will most likely have to pay for any repairs COD. Contact Hoveround sooner rather than later as Tech Service calls can take some time to schedule. Good luck!
I've looked at the Hoveround website and couldn't find a download for a manual for the MPV 4 So i would recommend calling Hoveround directly and asking for one You can call 1-800-542-7236 Hope this helps
Those are only available through Hoveround and retail for around $1159.00. You may want to have a Hoveround Tech come out to diagnose the power chair for $50 to make sure that is what you need before spending that kid of money.
Hoveround doesn't publish the manual online. Go to their website and get the contact number to call and request a manual...usually at a fee...they ****. Next time, buy a Pride, Invacare, or whomever has the owners manuals online.
I had the same problem. There are circuit breakers under my seat, one of them had opened. (It was a push button type and was popped out further than the other.) Under the seat, near where the cables all connect. All I had to do was reset the breaker. I know what caused it. I was making a tight turn, and one tire was very low and over loaded the motor.
