My son's nintendo ds will not power on.

I have fully charged the battery which I realize can cause this problem if it has been overcharged. But even after several days, when I attempt to turn the ds on, the green power light comes on but the screens only blink white for a split second and then go black again. Could the rechargeable battery need replaced?

How long should my battery last? I bought an nintendo DS lite and I forgot to ask?

Hello there, the Nintendo DS Lite has four levels of brightness. The battery will last 15-19 hours on the lowest settings, and 5-8 hours on the brightest. This can also vary depending on the type of game activity."
So the DS should last the whole time in even on the highest brightness settings, if fully charged. Nintendo states that it takes 3 hours to fully charge the DS.

hope this helped, also this site will also help you to get your ds battery to last for longer

When i try to power on my son's DS Lite, the red light is on, and both screens power on for about 2-3 seconds max and then the system shuts off. It also wont charge when connected to the wall.

You may need to get a replacement battery pack when the battery is below 30% the light will turn red, the battery requires 4 hours to charge, and when the battery is fully charged the amber colored light will turn off. If you still need to purchase a new battery contact nintendo cust serv at 800-255-3700 or you can order online at nintendo.com You will need a #00 philips screw driver to remove the battery cover, install the battery with the 2 tabs in first, close compartment and allow battery to fully charge before use. The average battery will last for about 500 charges. Hope this helps

We think a neighbor girl spilled liquid on/in my son's DS Lite. It now won't power on and the orange light will stay on for only a minute or two when we attempt to charge the unit. The battery is good......

If the DS was turned on when the liquid was spilled on it I don't think there is much hope to be honest:(

If it's under warrenty send it back otherwise you might try taking it apart and use a hair dryer to dry it off... that's a long shot though!

My son's nintendo ds won't come on even though it is fully charged. The light turns green then it just turns off.

This situation is most likely battery related. When a rechargeable battery is used, each charge, the capacity is slightly decreased. I would strongly recommend getting a new battery.

Nintendo DS Lite won't come on

@JoepIt, you have a defective LCD screen. Could be upper of lower (I thing for 99% the upper).

@pietras1422, on the mainboard next to the power-switch, there is a resistor. If could be loose or is missing completely. Problem will occur when the DS Lite is dropped to the ground

Nintendo ds not charging

. go to ebay or even gamestop and purchase a new battery. sounds like the battery might have gave up. these kind of things happen, rare but happen

oither things it could be is a cold solder. the female power jack might not be fully soldered on the board. causing the battery not to be able to charge.

i think if you change the battery it will work. make sure you get the correct model/brand u dont want no knock off batterys
