System restore is a windows application included with windows operating system it’s not unique to your Acer laptop.
Is the system restore point you have chosen not working? Have you tried another system restore point?
The error code you are getting is one that occurs when your antivirus interferes/stops system restore working and throws up that error code, disable your antivirus software and attempt system restore. Good luck.

Clean the recovery CD if you are using one.

If the recovery runs from the hard drive you may have a failing hard drive.

You can download an image of a CD (an ISO file) from
http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm

If you dont have software or are unsure how to burn an ISO image get this:

SOURCE: Laptop freezes with startup, sometimes switches off during startu

PXE means Pre Boot Execution. It means that the system is trying to boot from network. To solve this, you need to enter bios. You can do this by pressing F2 during startup. Find the section where you can change boot device order and set the first boot device to HDD or CD. save your settings, hopefully your problem will be solved

SOURCE: How do i restore my laptop when system restore

Your DV 6000 came from the factory with a recovery partation as well as a partation for your user files and data.
If you have not removed this partation, you may be able to bring this partation back into play by hitting F-11 while starting unit.
If the partation is damaged or if you have hard disk damage, this will be useless...
Give it a try, F-11 when starting unit.
Hope this has helped.

Restore factory settings to acer aspire laptop

Restore and recovery
The restore and recovery features allow you to restore or recover the system
from a factory default image, from a user created image, or from previously
created CD and DVD backups. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for
your Acer system.
1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 Switch to the restore and recovery page by selecting the Restore button.
3 Select the backup point you would like to restore from. You can also
choose to recover the system from a factory default image, recover from a
previously created CD/DVD or reinstall applications and drivers.
4 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process

I ended up with a virus on my acer aspire one laptop and it prevents me from doing a system restore. How can I fix the laptop without sending it to a computer fixit shop?

Start up in Safe Mode. Go to your System Properties and disable System Restore. Run a full-system scan with your antivirus. Remove the detected infections, and go back and re-enable System Restore. Create a restore point, and restart. This should remove the virus.

Error message eNM Tray stopped working

actually this is normally because of spyware and adware installed in system or some infection due to virus the OS is corrupt , u cant repair it except u have to restore ur system thru backup disc or the procedure below is recommended

Acer: When you first turn on the laptop and see the Acer logo screen, hold the ALT key and press the F10 key (you need to do this before the Acer logo disappears).

ur system will be restored to factory default state and ur all problems will be gone pls first backup ur data in case it is wiped off by the restore process

it is good to keep ur system updated thru widows update and latest drivers and utils thru acer support

My acer aspire 5100 keeps coming up with an error code when switched on, and does not allow me to even restore to another date when computer was ok. the code is ERROR LOADING C: WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32...

do you have the restore cd? Using a restore cd would remove your files but it would fix the problem.

if you can get your hands on a windows installation disk, for the version you are using. You could perform a repair installation, it would also fix the problem and you would get to keep the files.

a pc tech might be able to fix the problem without reinstalling windows but that would require you to take the laptop to someone.

I know I could but I'm not in the UK.

Blank screen on acer aspire 5570z laptop

Hi Grneyes0725,

Thanks for the posting in FIXYA.

Could you please reboot Laptop in Safe mode.

Tapping F8 Key during Bootup. Select the option safe mode with networking.

Do the Error checking for each Hard Disk partition. Hope it fix the problem.

And if the problem is recent and date is known, its better to make a system restore.

1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.

2. Click Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> click on System Restore. System Restore starts.

3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.

4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next. A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.

5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer (normal mode now).

6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears.

7. Click OK.

Best of Luck & Regards
