Well the default is to obtain the channels signal. most channels over the world their audio output signal is mono. Rare tvs have the ability to save indivisual channel to their memmoty. Read the tv prospectus!!!

Go to http://www.m4c.magnavox.com/ then click on product support, select your model, then click on software and downloads. Download the latest software release for your tv and follow the instructions for installing the software.

I think the issue with mono and stereo here, since it is a built in option, is possibly how the program is broadcast.
You should be able to press the "Audio" button and switch between what is available. If you don't have other options, it may mean that that is not available for what you are watching.
