ERR80 indicates a problem reading valid data from the EEPROM at power-on ("Protect area read error").

It is probably necessary to replace the EEPROM to fix this.
It is then necessary to re-set valid values for each address in the EEPROM by following the instructions in the link below:
https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/2016/02/sharp-pr1000h-home-cinema-system-test.html
You may need a repair center to do this for you if you are unable to do it yourself. A Sharp specialist should be familiar with this procedure.
You could try the re-set procedure first without replacing the EEPROM in case it's just a data loss.

SOURCE: Home cinema/Viera link problem

Turn everything off and disconnect from mains.
Wait a few minutes.
Disconnect HDMI cable.
Turn on TV and DVD.
Connect cable.
If this does not work use a cable of different spec.
I had the same problem and now mine works .
Good luck.

SOURCE: Remote code for Sony Home Theater

Here's a link to the user manual for the remote. There's a section with codes for programming your devices.. Also, it says, if code isn't listed, there is a "code search" function on the remote..
Good luck!

I've got a Sony STR-K880 Cinema surround system and the remote control won't work it anymore! The only thing it will do is turn the system off when I push the'AV I-O' button and the &#

I had the same problem. Found the fix in this document
STR-K880 service manual
On the amp, while powered off:
"While depressing the INPUT MODE button, press the POWER button to turn on the main power."
You may need to do this more than once.
This switches command mode between AV1 and AV2.

Pro logic button on remote doesn't work for Samsung home cinema

Try turning off the ASC. This should restore the Pro-Logic II Mode functions as well as the DSP/EQ. Nearly tore my hair out until I stumbled on the solution at AVForums.com

Samsung HT-A100 Home Cinema system plays cd only with tv on!

Hi,
You need to put away the remote for your TV and use only the remote for your HT system. Your HT remote should work on your TV by default. Your Samsung HT remote should have a TV button and a DVD/Receiver button (or HT button). When using only the TV, press the TV button and then use it for just the TV and when using the HT system, press the DVD/Receiver button and then you can use the HT system.
If for some reason your TV is not set on the Samsung HT remote by default, your HT users manual should have a list of codes that you can use to program your HT remote. Hope that helps you. Gary
