My wii cosle isnt reading my discs - Video Game Consoles & Games

Make sure the disc is clean, and make sure the inside of the disk reader is clean. I had the same problem, and there was just a lot of dust inside, try using a dust can or vacuum. Of it still isnt reading the discs, you might have to take it to a repair shop.

It wont read your discs simple because the lens could hardly read them because it is dirty and probably needs cleaning. Try running a disc cleaner and let it spin for like 30 seconds. Then try playing those discs again. If this does not work, then you might need to clean the lens manually by disassembling the wii, taking out the casing and cleaning the lens with a swab damped in an alcohol. Just gently wipe the swab on the lens surface in a circular manner and let it dry. Then put everything back and try playing those discs again.

Well I would take of the front then the disk drive and make sure there isnt any gunk in there.

call nintendo. If its only one particular disc thats having the error, its the game. If it is more than one game, its the system. Call them and talk about troubleshooting and see if there is anything you have not tried.

I had the same problem, I take it you have a modded wii(chipped), if you use a backup disc it is of a lower quality then original discs, the wii gets read errors without you noticing and tries to read those disc areas again sometimes suceeding and the gaming goes on, sometimes it fails, and a disc read error occurs. Over time the dvd assembly will take some damage it will loose it rigidity it once had and the wii stops reading discs. The problem gets worse if you have standing up, so first thing si to flip it down and try. Otherwise you (or someone you trust) will have to open the wii and adjust the lens sled so it wont flap as much up and down. Hope this helps..
