I would STOP any salt intake immediately, and take a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (preferably organic) in some warm water, you can add lemon and honey to it, drink it back like medicine, it will burn, but it is excellent for any blood pressure or heart problems.

SOURCE: I need the instructions for

You are spot on. It is a possible indicator for Atrial Fibrillation or AFIB. If you suspect that you have AFIB, you need to get your doctor to prescribe a digixon product, AFIB is very dibilitating and can cause death. Take care and seek help.... Guy

SOURCE: It appears my F6 monitor

First you need to understand that the Polar system is a medical grade device and it is calculating calories based on specific information that you have inputed and heart rate data from your heart.

Most treadmills and other exercise machines use a much simpler counter that is height and weight based to calculate calories and are generally over generous with their numbers.

Depending on the blood pressure machine you are using, the pulse (not heart rate) is coming through the brachial artery, again not quite as accurate as measuring r-r variance from your heart. There is a ton of literature you can read if you are into the accurateness of the system, but I will sum up with saying that you actual calorie expenditure will be closer on the Polar than on most other devices outside of a hospital. As too the heart rate this is also true, so more likely you are getting inaccurate numbers from the other devices.

If you want pinpoint accuracy then you will need to use the Polar RS800 or S810 devices that measure and display true R-R.

SOURCE: my polar heart rate monitor counts the heart beets for quite a while before it gives me the heart rate as a number it may be up to one hour before it gives me a mumber.

I would go to Polar for a definitive answer but your monitor may not be making a good contact with your body. Therefore the reception of your heart beat is constantly starting over and can't give a reading fast enough. Try adjusting how you wear the monitor and see if it makes a difference. There is a battery in the chest strap also. The new ones have to go to Polar to get replaced unfortunately. That is another possibility.

Was in the ER last week cause blood pressure went down to 42. I got it back up but today it has loered to 67. How can I raise my blood pressure now here at home

Not enough information to answer safely.

A Blood Pressure of 67 makes no sense, as there are 2 numbers.
For example 150/90
The top number is the Systolic pressure, the pressure when your heart contracts.
The bottom number is the Diastolic pressure, the pressure when your heart relaxes.
Depending on many factors a bottom number of 67 may be very normal.
For example if you are a small elderly woman 67 would not be unusual.
Young athletes in excellent physical condition also have lower blood pressures.

I don't know why you went to the ER.
Nothing you have said so far indicates there was an emergency.

Were you having serious symptoms, or were you merely anxious and checking your blood pressure (or your pulse) by yourself.

I am wondering however if you mean pulse, i.e. heart rate, instead of "blood pressure".
A heart rate of 67 again might be very normal and not need to be changed.

My blood Pressure reading on right arm is normal but reading on left arm is very low what is the cause of this and what treatment would you suggest

i don't know. if you feel your readings are true, visit your doctor or hospital promptly. don't delay.
i suspect you may not be having a proper compression fitting on the arm with the lower reading.
some **** stores here have a ' no charge ' machine at a bench, that lets you test your blood pressure. you might like to try that on both arms and record the numbers. many electronics retailers sell a wrist band [ about $20 ] that reads pressure and pulse.

My blood pressure is 142 over 80 I'm 71 year old female is that normal my doctor didn't seem concerned

That is ok, but high normal. And age has no bearing on blood pressure, what is high for 12 year old is high for an 80 year old. Are you carrying extra pounds? If so loose them and lower the risk of a heart attack by lowering the blood pressure reading. You can read more at www.webmd.com

What causes low blood pressure?

low blood pressure dangerous only if it causes
noticeable signs and symptoms, such as:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Fainting (called syncope )
Dehydration and unusual thirst - Dehydration can sometimes
cause blood pressure to drop. However, dehydration does not
automatically signal low blood pressure. Fever, vomiting, severe
diarrhea, overuse of diuretics and strenuous exercise can all lead
to dehydration, a potentially serious condition in which your body
loses more water than you take in. Even mild dehydration ( a loss
of as little as 1 percent to 2 percent of body weight ), can cause
weakness, dizziness and fatigue.
Lack of concentration
Blurred vision
Nausea
Cold, clammy, pale skin
Rapid, shallow breathing
Fatigue
Depression
Low blood pressure can occur with:
Prolonged bed rest
Pregnancy - During the first 24 weeks of pregnancy, it's
common for blood pressure to drop.
Decreases in blood volume - A decrease in blood volume can
also cause blood pressure to drop. A significant loss of blood
from major trauma, dehydration or severe internal bleeding
reduces blood volume, leading to a severe drop in blood pressure.
Certain medications - A number of drugs can cause low blood
pressure, including diuretics and other drugs that treat
hypertension; heart medications such as beta blockers; drugs for
Parkinson's disease; tricyclic antidepressants; erectile dysfunction
drugs, particularly in combination with nitroglycerine; narcotics
and alcohol. Other prescription and over-the-counter drugs may
cause low blood pressure when taken in combination with HBP
medications.
Heart problems - Among the heart conditions that can lead to
low blood pressure are an abnormally low heart rate
(bradycardia ), problems with heart valves , heart attack and heart
failure . Your heart may not be able to circulate enough blood to
meet your body's needs.
Endocrine problems - Such problems include complications with
hormone-producing glands in the body's endocrine systems;
specifically, an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism), parathyroid
disease, adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease), low blood
sugar and, in some cases, diabetes.
Severe infection (septic shock) - Septic shock can occur when
bacteria leave the original site of an infection (most often in the
lungs, abdomen or ******* tract) and enter the bloodstream. The
bacteria then produce toxins that affect blood vessels, leading to
a profound and life-threatening decline in blood pressure.
Allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) - Anaphylactic shock is a
sometimes-fatal allergic reaction that can occur in people who are
highly sensitive to drugs such as penicillin, to certain foods such
as peanuts, or to bee or wasp stings. This type of shock is
characterized by breathing problems, hives, itching, a swollen
throat and a sudden, dramatic fall in blood pressure.
Neurally mediated hypotension - Unlike orthostatic
hypotension, this disorder causes blood pressure to drop after
standing for long periods, leading to symptoms such as dizziness,
nausea and fainting. This condition primarily affects young people
and occurs because of a miscommunication between the heart
and the brain.
Nutritional deficiencies - A lack of the essential vitamins B-12
and folic acid can cause anemia, which in turn can lead to low
blood pressure.
Severely low blood pressure can have underlying causes that may:
Be an indication of serious heart, endocrine or neurological
disorders
Deprive the brain and other vital organs of oxygen and
nutrients, ultimately leading to shock, which can be life
threatening

What is a normal blood pressure for a 72 year old male

talk with your doctor as blood pressure readings vary between patients, weights , age and health conditions
always have your blood pressure done by the doctor as that will give a record of any variations that could be harmful
at this point it seems slightly high but the bigger concern is the diabetes and what ever the heart condition is
again consult with your doctor and get a proper diagnosis

Blood pressure Question

Measuring your own blood pressure is an important way of monitoring your health. High blood pressure is a major health problem, which can be treated effectively once detected. Measuring your blood pressure between doctor visits on a regular basis in the comfort of your home, and keeping a record of the measurements, will help you to monitor any significant changes in your blood pressure. You should also keep an accurate record of your blood pressure, to help your doctor diagnose and possibly prevent any health problems in the future.

Blood pressure monitor problem

The two numbers that measure your blood pressure are written like a fraction: one number on top and one on the bottom. The top number in a blood pressure reading refers to the systolic pressure. It measures the pressure inside your blood vessels at the moment your heart beats. The bottom number represents your diastolic pressure. It measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is resting between heartbeats. A good blood pressure for most people will be under 120/80, as most people with blood pressure problems have high blood pressure. However, extreme low blood pressure can also be a serious health concern.
