Hi guys, I have the same model, and after reasing the manual a little closer and skimming the setup menu I've discovered that it's not actually a built in ambient light, it's actually a setting in the picture menu under "active control" that measures the ambient light in the room and adjusts the picture quality accordingly to ensure the best contrast and reduce glare/reflect imaging. I assume you are referring to the ac fuse, it is located on the power supply board. Just follow the ac power cord and it should lead you to it. If your set doesn't have a built in power cord, the fuse will be next to the power cord connector.

No its not the LED's. It's probably the video processor on the logic board.

I have a philips 55pfl5601/f7 tv that I think lighting may have got. It was working fine before the storm. I was told the power board was my problem more than likely. I have replaced it and still no power....

if there is no lights after power board replaced it would be a regulator on the input board. as not familiar with this tv. i would check the board and look for a marking that says F, this is for fuse. if there is an over load this can save the processor on the tv. the regulators are regulated to around 20v some only 10v on the 5.to 5.5v side and this will stop power going around the board to indicate ie red or blue led. if power came on at a spike this can damage the unit. if you have a power cut always turn off and unplug devices as a spike can do this to most electrical devices. leave a house light on as these can handle the power spike.
