I have a TWK7SO kettle and the lid mechanism has stopped working after just 3 months

I have searched for a picture but was unable to find one featuring the soft open/close lid.
The only suggestion I have is to dismantle the kettle far enough to remove the lid and identify the problem.

It just has to do with a thermal cutoff that it got hot enough

Had same issue on 2 B&D JKC930C kettles. Just push in button (hidden under front of lid) located in the centre above the spout with a butter knife and the lid will open.

I have a Popcorn machine from Nostalgia too that had this problem. I cleaned it out and everything but it still had the problem of the it getting stuck. After days of analizing, I found the solution. after a while the ceiling of the popcorn machine starts to fall in, lowering the handles of where the kettle goes. making the knob that turns being lower that the one that makes it turn, causing it to get stuck, all I did is add so leverage so the kettle is once again at the same level or higher. Making it turn with greater force and not getting stuck. In other words make sure the turning mechanism is leveled and not one lower than the other. preferably the kettle part being higher.

i brought a belline kettle from target 2 months ago and now the lid wont shut where would i find a contact no for the company as target wont issue me a new one and i dont have my reciept after all who would have thought it would be faulty after 2 months

Use a dremel and cut 2-3mm of the plastic away from each side of the sliding latch. This allows the latch to extend to its normal position. Works as new!

There is no harm in asking. I have had replacement cooker nobs, bin lids allsorts by just being honest with message and asking nicely.

But if all else fails EBAY =P
