Show me how to wire aftermarket JVC KD-R330 HEADUNIT to wiring harness adapter in my 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Constant power. In other words it should be hot even when the ignition is off. Most likely black. Put a voltage tester on the wire and to the ground point. If you read 12V with the ignition off, that's it.

You can get an installation kit at an auto parts store that has a connector harness adapter that easily plugs into the vehicle wire harness. It will simplify the installation.

Do you have a Bluetooth adapter plugged into the KD-R330?

A compatible Bluetooth adapter (like the KS-BTA100) usually plugs into the rear auxiliary port of the receiver. It then needs to be "paired" with your Bluetooth device, for example, a Bluetooth phone headset.

What you're describing sounds like what can when no Bluetooth device has been "paired" yet.

If you don't HAVE a Bluetooth adapter connected to your KD-R330....is it possible you accidentally plugged something into its rear auxiliary jack? Or the front auxiliary? In other words, is it possible your KD-R330 receiver is mistaking some other device for a Bluetooth adapter?

Don't know if that helps at all...if there's no adapter issue, and nothing connected to the AUX jacks, probably your next step should be a call to JVC, or whatever number you were given for tech support.

On the bright side, since the receiver turns on, and responds to some commands, you probably didn't mess up anything major in the wiring. And, there's also the possibility the receiver is defective....certainly if this continues, and JVC can't help you, trying a replacement might be worth a try.

BTW, feel free to post a reply...I'm going to look further to see if there's any other documented issue besides an adapter that might cause the problem you're having.

First you need to get a wire harness for the Chevy (check Ebay) then follow the wiring instruction inside the package on how to join the spliced wires togother. After joining the wires togother plug the harness in and stuck the JVC into the recess where the old stereo was and thats it, it should play if not you don`t have a good ground, ground the body to the frame.

Hello claude_bouth,You need a vehicle specific aftermarket connector generally called a "wiring harness". Your JVC came with a plug that fits the back of the receiver with "pigtail" wires which you splice to the harness wires. http://www.SonicElectronix.com sells the Metra 70-7301 which appears to be the correct harness for your Elantra.You can tap into the wiring of the car harness and splice the wires by function into the appropriate car wires, but using the aftermarket vehicle specific wiring harness is a lot easier and you don't need to disturb the vehicle wiring in any way, just plug into it. It also makes it possible to re-install the factory radio if you ever need to do so. The remote wire on the jvc unit is blue/white stripe if that isn't there it's the blue wire

If your installing a stock radio/cd player from another Dodge the wiring plug is the same and will fit.If your installing a aftermarket radio/cd player(JVC,Pioneer,etc)you will need to buy a adapter plug that wires up to the radio and is a direct fit to your factory wire harness,so your not cutting your wires.When you buy the adapter plug it comes with a wire diagram of which wire is what.Your aftermarket radio should have a diagram also,either on it or in the manual.Hope this helps you.

if you have a wiring harness al the wires are color coded to match the after market radios colors. the yellow constant wire goes to 12 volt or battery wire. the accessory wire would be the red wire that is the switched 12 volts. the remote is for the factory amp or an aftermarket amp which turns on and off it would be the blue with white wire.
