You have to remove the roller to get to the belt' look at the face and bottom to find the screws that hold the plate that covers the roller. Take the plate off and look @ the roller, to see where the belt runs. then take the roller out, you should be able to see the pin shaft that comes from the motor, the belt goes around it and over the roller.Be patient putting it all back together, and don't over tighten the screws, they strip easily, Good luck!
Hi, You will need to remove the front face plate. There are 4 phillips head screws holding the face plate on - one in each corner. Remove the screws wth a #2 phillps head screw driver. Once the face plate is removed you will have access to the orange pilot assembly wire. Simple plug the orange wire into the igniter on the face plate. Bolt the face plate back in place.
With your gas supply off - turn your rotary ignter and make sure there is a spark present at the pilot assembly.
Almost all parts are interchangeable- Gentle Annie and Frigidaire are all the same machines- only parts different are main power board in base of machine, and display board- everything else the same. Motors are interchangeable, as long as the plug connection is the same- there are two different types of plug connection (ie male and female plugs are opposite ways around).
the back plate does not come off.
to get to the motors, belt, sensors...
remove the screws to the inner top cover(under outer cover) and the plastic strips- slide strips front or back to remove.
remove the screws to the front panel- 2 top front, 4 inside door.
as you pull the front off, unhook the light and the door switch
remove the scres to the front drum plate.
reach under drum and unhook belt-take note how it goes around motor and tensioner.
lift drum out and observe everything else.
There is a fine strip that runs from the face to the circuit board. It is possible that face has gotten dirty just needs a can of compressed air or the circuit board has failed inside the face.
The face plate is very easy to take apart and put back together, just make sure you don't lose any pieces ;)
Good luck!
the cda 9830 and 9831 are known to have issues with the face plate connection that cause all kinds of issues. remove the face plate and clean the contacts on the face plate and the unit.
The problem is the flexible wire strip that cracked. I just had the same problem. A guy has them on auction on e bay. Type in model number and flexible replacment for search.
Fix by.
1. Unscrewing 2 the two screws that connect faceplate to motorized flip bracked. One on each side.
2. Unscrew the screws that are connected to the back plate. Plate directly behind faceplate with Blue LED.
3.Unclip backplate by sliding Deck out 1 inch. Two clips on each side.
4.Unclip the waferboard/circuit board from the back plate.
5.Remove Flexible wire band that connects the faceplate to backplate.
6.Attach new flexible wire band to deck then to face.
7. Reclip everything, Rescrew everything.
