Hello Sheridan, for what you comment, you have a problem in the CD reading stage, if you have technical knowledge, with the equipment disconnected from the power network, I suggest you remove the lid of the equipment and try to access the area where find the mechanism of the CD player, this equipment has 1 CD player so it is not complicated, once located try to clean the lens of the reader with a slightly moistened with alcohol, preferably using isoprpyl alcohol, then let it dry a few seconds, carefully connect the device, turn it on and place a CD, see if it reads it, if that is the problem solved, if not, you would have to replace the laser reader or approach a specialized technical service

Hola Sheridan, por lo que comentas, tienes un problema en la etapa de lectura de CD, si tienes conocimientos tecnicos,con el equipo desconectado de la red de energia, te sugiero sacar la tapa del equipo y tratar de acceder a la zona donde se encuentra el mecanismo del reproductor de CD, este equipo tiene reproductor de 1 CD por lo cual no es complicado, una vez localizado trata de limpiar la lente del lector con un isopo levemente humedecido con alcohol, preferentemente usar alcohol isoprpilico, luego de eso deja secar unos segundos, conecta con cuidado el aparato, prendelo y coloca un CD, observa si lo lee, si es asi problema resuelto, si no, tendrias que reemplazar el lector laser o acercarte a un servicio tecnico especializado

You can't record a CD that is playing on the Panasonic SC-HC20DB to the iPod. However, if you rip the CD and put the contents of the CD on your compatible iPod, you can play the resulting audio files on the Panasonic SC-HC20DB. I hope this helps. Note: the SC-HC20DB only plays CD-DA and MP3s on CDs. I'm not sure if the restriction applies to audio files from the iPod.

Your cd laser lens has got weak.get it replaced.
you can replace only the lens or the whole laser pickup.

For about $40, replace your _OLD_ CD-ROM drive with a new CD/DVD reader/writer, which will be compatible with _any_ disk that you feed it.

Hello, I may be able to help. When the SC board powers up, it should go through a lengthly sequence of numbers indicating program versions of the SC board and the player itself. It should then stop with a solid "0". At this point, if you have a CD on the player (and clamped with a magnetic puck, from the clamp arm), you should be able to make it play by pressing the middle button on the SC board. The display should flash "8" while it's reading the table of contents, the display 0-1, indicating that it's playing track 1. If this fails, and you know that the player is o.k., I would expect that the SC board needs repaired. I can repair this for you, as well as help with removing it from the machine. My Panasonic SC-EN5 stereo hadn't worked for years; the screen always read "no disc." I sprayed it with one of those air dusters that had compressed air, and IT WORKED!! Thanks jack 007227!

maybe cd lens is damaged in which case u may need to change the drive itself

It sounds as if either the power cable on the back of the drive has come loose, check first before going further, if that is still connected then the most likely scenario is that the drive died. You can pick up cd or dvd burner at any computer store for around $30 max. Hope this helps.
