You must LUBE the deck belt first, this happen because you do not lube maintenance schedule, Do it every week from use.Maybe you have a WORN deck belt.

2) LUBE the rollers bearing front and end, use WD-40

3) Test the drive belt motor, for cracking or worn, and replace.

I have a Pro-From Crosstrainer xp 580s, walking on the belt isn't smooth and it makes a squeeking noise

You need to adjust the roller tension, The adjustments are at the sides of the treadmill by the rear roller. Sometimes there is a cover over them.

My proform 580 runs for 1/2 second, shuts of, and resets and will repeat this as many times that you push the start button

HI,
Your treadmill have problem with the motor control board. The motor control IGBT is faulty thats why its stars at high speed and shuts off immediately by sensing over current drain. The solution is replacing the motor control board or replacing the IGBT on the motor control board. To replace the IGBT you should have a through knowledge in electronics. I have a proform xp 580. when I turn it on,

Press the Stop and the Speed Up keys down while inserting the safety key.
Press the Stop key one time. The Time window should read EP:2P. Some newer models may also say FP, Pass, or the like. This means that it passes the EPROM test.
Press either incline key and the incline will calibrate automatically.
After completing calibration of incline, press the Stop key and then remove the safety key.
