Not sure about Mazda's but on GM's, when you disconnect the battery it disables your sterio. You have to take it to a dealer to have it reset. Usually this is a free service. Hope this helps.
acura cls have a securiy feature that once the battery is disconnected you need a code for the sterio to work. if thats not it pull the head unit out and make sure the power wire is fully clipped in
Look for FOUR digit code in the user manual. Disconnecting the battery has put the radio in SAFE mode. If you can't get the code, then take it to the agents. They will insert the code and get the radio working
the short answer is yes... it's a theft prevention thing... try unhooking the battery again for a few minutes... the hooking it back up... i presume you have the code and know how to enter it ?
