Shredder works in reverse, not in input. - Shredder Office Equipment & Supplies

If it is only running in reverse the most likely cause is a faulty switch as the switch just reverses the polarity of the power to the motor. Also check that nothing is covering the proximity sensor in the throat of the shredder.

The shredder will only constantly run in the "Reverse" mode. The trigger located in the center of the feed entry slot, which activates the shredder, may be blocked. To clear it, you would need to insert an index card or file folder (i.e. rigid paper or cardstock) in the center of the feed slot and apply force.

there should be a forward/ reverse switch that is used to unjam paper being shredded. check that
if it is automatic then check for paper stuck in the shredder causing the reverse action.

There is an infeed sensor that isn't being made for auto on which is just a simple flipper switch and if it doesn't work it is because there is paper jamming it. Unplug it and turn it over where the blades are and see if clogged up and if so than put back on and reverse it and than forward again until it releases if it has a reverse ,reverse it. If no reverse unplug and use a narrow object to clear from the bottom side

if you have reverse, run reverse.
if you don't have reverse, you will have to disassemble the drive shaft/cutters and clear manually

sounds like you have a sensor problem. is it automatic reversing on jamb? if so sensor is defective, or there is a bind causing sensor to reverse only, a bent shaft could cause that

Check the optical eye for debris, or the paper safety for proper operation.

Something is happening with the safety switch - it is not recognizing there is paper there.

The optics are OK!
There is a small electromagnetic sensor on the cuttershaft which senses the input load.
I could be maladjusted or defective.
