My guess is the drive belt has come off. Open the plastics up slightly and look in with a torch.

SOURCE: error message on recumbent bike

The problem might be the gearbox. I know because I have the same problem.  Keys fitness is out of business, but "The Treadmill Doctor" has purchased the inventory of parts for the bikes. They will help you troubleshoot, and have parts available if you need them. The number is 1-888-340-0482. Or, you can go to treadmilldoctor.com.

SOURCE: Life fitness recumbent bike problem

Hi
We had exactly the same thing. If you take the covers off you will find a black battery pack in the bottom. It is about the same size as a cordless drill battery. We got a replacement from Maplins - cost about £10. It works perfectly now.

SOURCE: Our life fitness 9500hr recumbent bike stopped working

If this unit has not been used for that period of time then the 6v batt has died ans needs replacing call National Gym Parts @ 1-800-496-7278 to order part# LC001.5
HERE IS THE PROCEDURE TO REPLACE THE BATT:
Tilt the bike on its side, remove mounting screws securing the battery to the bracket. Remove the battery just enough to access and disconnect the black (neg) wire from the (-) terminal and the red (pos) wire form the (+) terminal. Replace battery and reverse procedure when installing battery

NordicTrack VR 25 Recumbent Bike forward pedallng brushing/grinding sounds.

That sounds like worn bearings or something rubbing. Magnets don't make a noise.

After pedaling my Body Champ magnetic recumbent bike there is a clunking sound from the front--- What causes and how do I fix??

Question edited for clarity, full make model (what it is), and wrong type of peddle (drugs) / pedal (a bike).
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to Exercise Bike category.

That noise is normally caused by adjustable bearings that need tightening up. There is help in the link.

Recumbent bike 250 how do I reset for individual user? Also the bike keeps giving me the message that has paused, how do I fix this?

Page 24 of the manual for Pause and Resume. Push and hold 3 seconds for Guest User. Page 39 tells you 'PAUSED' is because you stopped pedaling for 5 seconds.

to Reset the machine, unplug it from the mains for at least 3 minutes. Page 39.

How do I remove the pedals on a 8500 life fitness recumbent bike

Replacement Parts for Fitness Exercise Equipment at SPORTSMITH

Using a wrench, you remove the left pedal as you would loosen a normal, left hand threaded bolt. The right side is a reverse thread and would need to be loosened in the opposite direction.

What's better a recumbent or an upright exercise bike?

Recumbent bike works best for elderly people with back and hip problems because of the relaxed position and the angle that put's less pressure on those areas. Upright exercise bike works on more areas than the recumbent bikes including the lower abdominal muscles.
