Either the circuit that is on is carrying a load that iis OK until you added sandwich maker. Is the toaster, toaster oven coffee pot being used at the same time? If not return it for a replacement. You paid for a new working unit and that is what you should get.

If your hands are capable you desasemble the pumb clean all the parts with a metal brush and put them back together 90% the pump will work perfect again. Their are 10% that the coil of the pump to be burn out then you will need a new pump

Hi, apparently Brita, that owns Breville, did not fix the problem yet.
I can see that complains keep coming.
The problem is apparently on CM8 and CM9, the more expensive Cappuccino Maker BES200XL
does not have the problem.

One suggestion, Breville are nice budget coffe maker, if you want to spend some mor money on a better product buy a Gaggia or something similar. Italian coffee makers are usually the best for espresso/capuccino. If you want a Breville buy the ESP8XL Espresso Machine.
Here is another good brand.
