I have a Chantal Classic Tea Kettle. The screw fell off of the whistling piece and the whistling piece fell off. No matter how I put it back on and screw it in, it will not whistle.

Sounds like a vacuum leak has developed in the intake system. While the engine is whistling, using a spray bottle with water and on the mist setting, spray along the intake manifold area and vacuum hoses to locate a possible leak.
Take it to a repair man, or mostly, just purchase another kettle...whe they start to break, better another new one, because tempering will lead to more frustration or worse, eletrocution.
The replacement whistle for Alessi 9033 kettle allegedly fits Le Creuset classic kettles. See the customer comments on amazon. The only other replacement I've found is a genuine one on UK ebay.
you need to replace it with a new one it will be corroded. heat kettle then drive out pitch pipe with a screw driver from below, insert new one from above.
