Try to get other disk to read if you can not you may have a lens problem and will have to clean it. I would suggest using a fiber optic cleaning kit. You can find them on-line I beleive.

the lens on the laser maybe fogging and will need cleaning or you may need to replace the laser because it's not as effective as it used to be, the lens is mounted on a delicate spring which when electrified moves to focus on the dvd and in time the spring gets stretched and therefore becomes less effective and there ends our lesson for today, I hope you found this helpful

Here's what you need to know: DVD
head units have one extra wire in their wiring harnesses, compared
to a standard CD head unit. On the Jensen, it's a peach-colored wire,
and is
the activation wire for the DVD feature. During the installation, the
instructions call for this wire to be tapped into the emergency brake
indicator light wire. The reason is this:
The e-brake indicator
light is what is called a "ground complete" circuit. That means that
the bulb always has power applied, but when you pull the brake, that
puts a ground to the wire and completes the circuit, allowing it to
illuminate. The head unit sees this ground, and activates the DVD
player.
In mine, I simply ran this wire to a ground (I
used a screw near the fuse box), and I put a switch on the wire, so I
could break the ground contact at will. Jensen calls for a procedure to
activate DVD playback. In their instructions, they tell you to select
DVD from the option menu, and when the "lawyer screen" comes up (the
one warning you to park before you watch a movie), you release the
e-brake for 3-5 seconds, and then reapply it. To simulate that with the
switch I used, I leave the switch closed (activated), and select DVD.
Then I flip the switch "off" for 3-5 seconds, and flip it back "on".
This tricks the head unit into thinking I put the e-brake off for a few
seconds and then put it back on, and the movie will start. Then I can
drive away.
Basically, ground the wire that is used for DVD
activation, and put a switch inline on it. Then you can break and
reapply the ground in the manner of the e-brake cycle I mentioned earlier.

take the parking brake wire should be pink or some funky color and hook it up to a +12 power source.
that way there is no need to use the e brake or anything for it to work
But as a word of caution all this is illegal in most states due to people not keeping their eyes on the road. ive read of people getting tickets for having disabled this security feature on their stereos. some insurance companys will not cover you if there's an accident you are involved in and you by-passed the safety feature. so before you do it, be sure to read your local laws and check with your insurance agent before doing it. you will not be happy finding things out the hard way.

It means that your software does not have the same video "decoder" that matches the video "coder" that was used to create the video.
"codec" is short for "compression/decompression"
Your video player should ask you if you want to download the proper decoder (codec) from the Internet; generally, it is safe to do so if you trust the video.
Hope this helps!
