Connect the + lead to the spool gun so that there is power at the end of the wire to make the arc
there should have been a user manual showing how to connect it into the system
try searching -- user manual for ( make and model of ) spool gun

Testimonial: "Have tried that .No user manual.Very basic diiscription of wires.Thankyou for trying to help me much appreciated."

I searched --schematics for connecting miller spool gun to mishto welder-- and got a a lot of different images of wiring diagrams
the first image has 2 different methods of connecting
one is for a typical hook up
there are u-tube shows also and may be you will pick up the vital clue in all of that which will solve your problem
for instance the first diagram shows the power for the spool controller connected to the mig unit and in the second which is a generator unit connected to an external power supply may be you have the wrong spool gun controller as one is a controller and the other a contactor
anyway in all of those diagrams you may find exactly what you are looking for

My welder won't feed wire it sounds like it's trying to energize but can't. A couple of times it fed through but wouldn't feed to weld so I had stick weld. What happens if the liner has a restriction?

first unscrew the tiny tip at very end of torch (can be hot)!! then try to feed wire thru handle, gently shake cable as you do helps to feed wire thru cable , if successful you have allowed the amps to get too high for the feed rate (slow) and melted the tip closed , these tips are replaceable from miller and are not expensive

Why wont the wire come through my cosmo gas gasless welder

Most mig welders have reversible feed spools. There is a good chance you have the spool in the .030 wire side. Remove the spool retaining clip and flip the spool to .023 wire for example. I don't know what size wire you are using. Also there is an adjustment for the drive spool. Tighten the tensioner spring thumb screw to increase the feed tension.

Hi:

If everything works but there is no arc; you should check your ground clamp, make sure it is not loose or dirty including terminals and replace your gun's contact tip.
Believe it or not this is a simple one.

Millermatic 140 w/ auto set powers on but will not feed wire or arc

If its a new unit its probably nothing. Miller makes good stuff. Open the side so you can see the spool. With the machine on, press the trigger for a second. Did the little wheel spin (trying to feed the wire) if it did then your problem could be kinked wire, **** on tip, or spring on small spool is loose and wire is slipping. Let me know.

Mig problem

For certain type of work TIG is required, like welding chrome moly for some racing organizations. Intricate work, like gunsmithing is also well suited to TIG. TIG is used by many auto restorers who prefer a more precise, perfect finish that requires little to no finish work. TIG is most similar to gas welding in technique, so if you've done oxy-fuel welding, TIG should be a natural transition. MIG is required by law and by insurance companies in many localities for structural repair of automotive frames. MIG is also much easier to learn and faster to weld. For doing other types of welding, like sheet metal, it can be a matter of personal preference. For an auto body repair shop or a novice welder, a MIG is a good, practical all-around welder.
