Montgomery Ward (AFAIK) never made their own machines. They contracted with a sewing machine company (ie Singer, Necchi...) to make their machines and badged them with MW's name. Sometimes, if you search for the:
Make Model manual
you will find something for your machine.
Otherwise, you may be able to ask some knowledgeable people (sewing machine technicians) if they know who the manufacturer was, then you might find a manual.
Good luck.

This site is the only place I could locate a manual, but it is not the exact model number. Some manuals will serve more than one model - ask before you buy.

Don't know if problem is resolved, but I put a Mont Ward sewing machine model # UHT 1460 on Washington DC Craigslist a few moments ago. Could not fix it, so am selling it for parts (something is wrong with bobbin assembly and I give up!!). If you just want the power cord and foot contact me through there and I will detach it and mail it to you--the postage shouldn't be too much for just those parts.
