You are using a wireless system that transmits signals between the outdoor sensor and the indoor receiver. They are not a perfect match. You cannot make adjustments, thus if your lucky, the factory matched up the devices prior to the sale. You may contact Lacrosse for a replacement outdoor temperature device.

SOURCE: Display is fading

Check the batteries first before trying to tinker with the display. Also check for accumulation of fungus, if any, which can also cause the display to fade..............sodeep

SOURCE: It looses time and the radio controlled feature

When the battery is installed the second hand will advance eight seconds (2 seconds per step x 4 steps). The clock is now searching for a signal. For the initial setting it is recommended to stand the clock in an upright position near a window. Within five minutes the clock will either receive the WWVB signal and set itself to the exact time, or it will determine that the signal is not receivable at its current location and time of day. If a signal is not receivable it will fast-forward the hands to the 4, 8, or 12 o'clock position and search for WWVB each hour until a signal is received. If the time is manually set the clock will continue to periodically search for a signal and automatically reset the hands when the signal is received.

What does an OF symbol mean in the indoor temp window with no readings from the outside?

Based on a different, but similar, LaCrosse model (the WS-8611), it would appear to be an OverFlow indication, meaning that it's out of range. Here's a quote from that unit's manual:

SPECIFICATIONS:
Temperature measuring range:
Indoor : 14.2F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-9.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution)
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)
Outdoor : -39.8F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-39.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)

It is likely that their convention remains the same across models, but I don't work for them, so I can't guarantee it.

My outside temperature and humidity sensor appears to have failed. I'd like to buy a replacement. 433 MHz. The system is WS-7395U. Please advise price. taylor.norman1@gmail.

The WS-7395U uses the La Crosse TX8U outdoor temperature and humidity sensor. That part has a $49.99 MSRP. It is $46.95 from La Crosse; see http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/tx8/index.php to order the part. Other vendors that I checked do not have the sensor in stock for sale separately.

I hope this helps.

How do get the outside temp to work.

Bring the outdoor sensor inside. Take batteries out of both the sensor and the main unit. Wait 10 minutes. Put batteries in remote sensor. Then put batteries in main unit. Don't touch any of the buttons for 10 minutes or until the outdoor temperature is displayed. If still not displayed after 10 minutes then try again.
