I am facing the same problem! By all means get it repaired. You can find the nearest Pioneer warranty station by calling 800-421-1404. You will need a copy of the purchase receipt when you bring it in for ervice. My story: I got it for a gif last Christmas, and after I had it for a month, it lost it's memory. (title index) So I called up Pioneer corp on the phone and this dude said make sure you don't have it hooked up to a switched AC. and I did, so I corrected that and he said use the remote to shut the unit off, oh by the way the remote sucks...!!!! but the memory is only lasting about three weeks or so. and it takes hours to put the cd's in memory. Anyway, i am on the way to ask for service...

If you have Windows XP, right click on My Computer and select Properties; then select the tab Advanced and unselect the option Automatically restart as in the example here below ,
Next time there is this issue I'm expecting your laptop to show a blue screen with some codes and some indication of the fault instead of shutting down.
When you will see the blue screen, please take note of the first message on the top left (For example IRQ_GREATHER_THEN or something similar) and all the numbers shown below.
In this way we can understand in what direction we need to go.
After you took note of all these information you have to manually reboot your laptop.
Let me know.
SOURCE: I downloaded an update (BD.808.544.B) on Sunday,
I had a similar problem. Mine would take about 30 seconds just to detect the connection speed, then would take about 3 minutes to buffer the movie. After about 3 minutes of playing, it would stop and buffer about 3 more minutes of the movie, play for 3 minutes, then stop and buffer about 3 more minutes, etc.
I noticed on another thread that people were disabling BD-Live to resolve other issues, so I tried that and it seems to have solved my problem. You might want to give it a try. Under Setup -> Network -> BD-LIVE connection - set it to Prohibited and give it a try.
I guess you only need BD-Live enabled if you have BluRay discs and want to access the online extras.

This sounds like a problem with your Internet connection/networking.
Run the PS3's network test to get more information as to what is being restricted.
