I have a Peavey XR 8600 PA, I have tried adding an external vocal effects module into a mic line but it drops the output volume of the entire PA by about 75%. Any ideas why this is?

I have a Peavey XR 8600 PA, I have tried adding an external vocal effects module into a mic line but it drops the output signal of the entire PA by about 75%. I have a separate powered monitor I use with that vocal, connected within that mic line and it works great (powered mon. in main vocal line, allows us to have two separate monitor levels using that mon., and then the regular monitor mix from PA to mon.s out of the Main/Monitor connection). However, if I connect the external vocal effects module anywhere in the line (mic-effects-powered mon-to-PA, or mic-powered mon-effects-to-PA, etc.) the output drops by more than half volume. Any ideas on why this is?

Well, I would say it isn't dropping the level of "the whole pa", it is just dropping the level of the input you have plugged the fx into. Check the settings on your fx unit, there are usually input, output and mix controls that are independant of "the pa" and affect the amplitude of the signal going into your mixer from the fx unit.

SOURCE: how to send at same time main mix and alt 3-4 outputs signals

The subwoofer MAY only have a single channel. If so, you would just use either 3 or 4 to the subwoofer.

Normally you would just tap off the main mix. The only reason I can see for using the alts is to have seperate sliders for level control.

SOURCE: How do i connect 2 monitors to the one monitor

The monitors will have to be POWERED monitors with built in amps.

You can simply use a wye splitter cable to drive the two monitors. Run the cable from the mixer to one monitor and put a wye cable and an extention to the second powered monitor speaker.

SOURCE: i have the peavey xr

That's easily done. Simply connect the left(or right) output of your mixer to one of the channels on the peavey. Use any line input. Since the peavey is a mono system, there's no need sending a stereo mix to it.

If you run the speakers FROM the main you should have BOTH the effects and the EQ invilved with your signal.

I have a Peavey XR-600 PA Head, I would like to know if and how can I connect a MX 200 Dual Reverb Effects Processor to the PA Head?

If it has a effects loop output and input on the p.a. head and a in and out on the reverb effects processor, then yes you can, just run the effects loop output signal into the input on your reverb processor, out of the output back into the input effects loop on the p.a. head, kinda like you would a effects pedal thru the effects loop of a guitar amplifier. hope this helps!

I have a Peavey 8600D can I safely run 1 main

When you unload one amplifier you stand the chance of killing the amp's output transistor. If you must use only one speaker, you have to bridge the amps.

I use my Peavey XR 8600 with an acoustic duo that I'm in. At my last show, an audience member grabbed and dropped a vocal microphone that sent a sharp sound through the Peavey and shut it down. When I...

Chances are one of the power amps has shorted. Replacing the fuse probably fried additional components. Unless you are electronically adept this is NOT a DIY repair.

Expect that this is going to be an expensive repair as often quite a few transistors and other components fry when one goes in these power amps.

I have just bought a peavey xr800f powered mixer but unable to get echo on mics any help would be appreciated thanks

There are SEVERAL things to set. First is setting the EFX mix for those channels you want the effects to be active. Next, select the effect you want AND the TIME for the effect and FINALLY the amount of the effect output to go to the MAIN and MONITOR outputs. Also the effect disable button below the effects needs to be in the correct state. ALL of these have to be set for using the effects on the mics.

I have a Peavey 8600 amplifier. It sounds great but when only operating vocals, in order to get the highs of your voice just right, the speakers put off a large amount of white noise. While singing, you...

There is not enough info here to provide a complete answer, but let me give you some background:

There will always be some hiss. This is due to general amplification where a small amount of noise is amplified along with the general signal. In most cases, the signal is strong enough to overpower any noise that is present (vocals in your example). This noise should not be that noticable in normal cases. If there is an automatic gain control in the line, this could account for it as with "silent" times, the gain will automatically be increased potentially to the degree where the noise is noticable.

Barring that scenerio, if the input signal is too low, the overall gain necessary to produce reasonable volume at the speakers will also be such that the noise is noticable. In order to track this down, please provide details about the current setup including:

1) Microphone make and model being used
2) Input being used on the mixer
3) Gain level being used for the mic channel
4) Gain level being used at the master level.
