SOURCE: Loss of reception in 2002 ford focus factory radio fm

Common fault but as others have suggested, check aerial plug. It does fall out, speed humps vibration, cause it to come out of it's socket. If not this, try a seperate aerial such as a piece of wire or a small screw driver blade in the hole. Press search and see if radio finds a station and locks on.If it does then you know you have an aerial problem and your radio unit is ok. Sadly, if no luck and no result then the only answer is to relpace the unit as it is not servicable. These can be found at some car breakers but take your car and make sure that you buy a tried and tested unit with its pin No. Typical costs are £30 with casette and £70 for cd player.

However because there are so many different types of socket and plug arrangments on these units and they all look alike , don't be tempted to part with any cash until you have got the correct one that fits your car and it works. If does and you have its pin, it will have to be entered to make it work and you have made a written note of it in your Ford hand book , then pay the man. Good luck From been there and have the tee shirt. J.R. Note. Halfords do a fitted alternative replacement for around £150 if no luck and you are prepared to spend that kund of money.

SOURCE: AM reception/AM power problems

A portable Loopstick tuning antenna is probably the BEST option. Also, the quality of the portable radio you are using is vital since the internal ferrite loop antenna is the single most important factor when attempting to use electromagnetic coupling for better radio reception on the AM (Medium Wave) band. That being said, the obstacle of a metal building's 'signal-shielding' may make it impossible to receive inside some areas of the structure. {Mark • KC9TSR}

Pyle PBMSPG190 can't scan fm stations

If you're having trouble scanning FM radio stations on your Pyle PBMSPG190, there are a few things you can try:

- Check your antenna: Make sure your FM antenna is properly connected to your radio and is positioned in a location with good reception. If your antenna is damaged, you may need to replace it.
- Check the FM frequency range: Make sure that the FM frequency range of your radio is set correctly for your location. In some cases, FM frequencies may differ depending on your country or region.
- Check for interference: Electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, or other nearby radios may cause interference with your radio's ability to pick up FM stations. Try turning off nearby electronics or moving your radio to a different location to see if this improves reception.
- Manually tune to specific frequencies: If the automatic scan is not working, try manually tuning your radio to specific FM frequencies to see if you can pick up any stations.

If none of these steps work, it's possible that there may be a problem with the radio's internal components. In that case, you may want to contact Pyle customer support for further assistance.

Fm radio works fine but the dab will not find any stations, I have tried different aerials and still no good

What's the make & model of the radio?
Most DAB/FM radios work from the same antenna, so if you receive FM stations, you should receive DAB stations in your area.
It should be noted that DAB transmitters work on lower power than conventional FM transmitters, and so you may be in a weak reception area (for DAB). It should also be noted that DAB uses different frequencies than regular FM stations and household appliances such as laptops,WiFi, microwave ovens, etc can affect DAb reception.

Just bought a car and it had hardwired sirius radio already installed. I called and activated it with Sirius radio and tried to get assistance from them on how to get it to work. They gave me instruction...

The "hard wired" version that you speak of apparently only refers to the power supply.Do you have a seperate display for the Sirius unit? Now, you failed to mention the type of radio (factory or aftermarket); so, if you have to use an "empty radio station" then you have an FM modulator. This modulator could wired or wireless. The wired version interrupts the vehicle antenna wire and the station on said modulator is usually preset to either 88.1, 88.3,88.7, or 89.1. There is no need to power this modulator up, it comes on when then Sirius comes on. One way to check for power is to turn on the Sirius unit and tune your radio to an occupied Fm station. Wait a few seconds and listen to the reception. Turn off the Sirius unit, the reception should improve for the occupied station. If it is a wireless FM modulator it also has preset stations that you can change but, extending the wieless antenna will greatly improve your reception of the Sirius stations.

FM reception for Sony ICF-CD513?

The electrical cord acts as an antennae for this radio. Uncoiling the cord will give the best reception for FM. Rotating the radio (and built in ferrite bar antennae) will give the best reception for AM listening.
