I don't need the 5700 to control my Ipod or Sirius XM tuner. I would just like to plug these devices into an aux input like just about every late model car radio has. Is this possible with the 5700?

I have a 2009 Kia Rondo EX with a sirius Radio with the touch screen display with navi, but i ran into a problem. One road trip, the radio display went weird and now it is always stuck at the loading "Kia Motors" screen. i can't access setup, navi, cd drive, but i can still listen to my radio and my aux. I wish to fix this either myself or send it in to a shop and have them do this and not everything else.

Doesn't look good. When you open the unit up (easy to do) the backlight LEDs for the LCD display aren't functioing. Unless you could get the schematics it would be hard to trace out the circuitry. Even then you's have to get the correct replacement part. Since so many people have the issue it is probably the same part, or same broken conmnection.

I twisetd and poked and prodded around the board and the flex cable without luck implying it is a defective part.

As a side observation the quality of the soldering on one side of the board is marginal. There are incomplete fills for the SMD (Surface Mounted Devices) on their backside. Since the same issue keeps getting repeated it probably isn't the soldering but if multiple people reported various issues then the soldering might be the cause.
